Patent number: 5823669Abstract: An apparatus and method for continuously and accurately blending a plurality of diverse, normally gaseous or volatile liquid components, preferably two or three, at low pressures. In a preferred embodiment, and apparatus blends a first stream of volatile liquid component, preferably carbon dioxide with a liquid stream of any suitable hydrocarbon (including halogenated hydrocarbons) blowing agent in accordance with any predetermined ratio desired by those skilled in the art before introducing the blend into a suitable extrusion process for preparation of polymeric foams and the like. The apparatus combines the liquid components at a pressure substantially higher than the elevated pressure required during the extrusion process.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1995Date of Patent: October 20, 1998Assignee: Lolco Packaging Corp.Inventor: Clifford Jones

Patent number: 5795175Abstract: A rectangular hand-mounted connector with d-shaped geometrical bay areas for providing easy mounting or dismounting compatibility in a commercial application without the use of any special tool is disclosed. The connector system uses a plurality of hooks located at the top and bottom of the receptacle shell to mate with a plurality of draw latches or bail latches at the top and bottom of the plug shell. In an alternative embodiment, a vertical clamping latch system is used to engage the receptacle and plug assembly. A polarization key in the receptacle shell provides latch tension when it is mated with its mating part from the plug shell. Strain reliefs may be connected to the receptacle or plug shell and may further having a plurality of ground studs for grounding the electrical contacts.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1995Date of Patent: August 18, 1998Assignee: Aero Electric Connector System, Inc.Inventor: John E. Patent number: 5717331Abstract: To allow a displacement sensor to operate independently of changes in the excitation signal to the transducer, a demodulating circuit utilizing a single integrator is provided wherein comparison is made between the excitation signal and a reference signal, the comparison is used to adjust an output generating circuit which generates the output from the transducer. Advantageously, the output generating circuit can provide movement information from output of the transducer which include position, velocity and acceleration.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1995Date of Patent: February 10, 1998Assignee: H.R. Textron, Inc.Inventors: Robert W. Deller, Robert Heagey

Patent number: 5711872Abstract: A reusable oil filter assembly adapted for use in filtering the lubricating oil of an engine configured to receive an oil filter, including a filter housing having an open end and a closed end, a filter mount disposed between the filter housing and the engine for receiving the unfiltered oil from the engine and returning filtered oil to the engine. The filter mount includes a first plate, a second plate, and an anti-drain back seal disposed between the first plate and the second plate. The anti-drain back seal prevents both the oil disposed in the engine from flowing out into the filter assembly and the oil disposed in the filter assembly from flowing into the engine when the engine is turned off. The first plate, the second plate and the anti-drain back seal arefittingly, rather than integrally, mated together, thus facilitating service, repair and replacement of the assembly.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 1995Date of Patent: January 27, 1998Inventors: John A. Jones, Robert Kanovitz

Patent number: 5692391Abstract: A disposable beverage container including a heat exchange unit which, when activated, releases a refrigerant and cools the beverage. The heat exchange unit contains the refrigerant and includes a valve for controllably releasing the same. The refrigerant is a mixture of at least one liquified petroleum gas having a pressure profile of 70 psi at 70.degree. F. and a halogen gas.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 1996Date of Patent: December 2, 1997Assignee: The Joseph CompanyInventor: William Daniel Joslin, Jr.

Patent number: 5682388Abstract: A system is disclosed for testing a plurality of items of test data, the system comprising memory means for storing a plurality of items of stored data and, in response to an input signal identifying one of the items of stored data, producing an output signal dependent on that item of stored data. The input signal is dependent on one of the items of test data and on a feedback signal comprising at least part of the output signal produced on testing a previous item of test data, at least part of the output signal providing an indication of the result of the testing.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1995Date of Patent: October 28, 1997Assignee: Westinghouse Brake and Signal Holdings LimitedInventor: Malcolm Reeves

Patent number: 5678220Abstract: In a device for rejecting the image signal of a signal converted to a predetermined intermediate frequency, a local oscillator supplies a local signal at a frequency chosen according to the frequency of the signal and the intermediate frequency. A first phase-shifter has two passive phase-shifter cells including resistive and capacitive components and respectively connected to the output of the oscillator to supply two mixer signals in phase quadrature. Two mixers receive an input signal containing a signal and its image signal and a respective mixer signal and supply two intermediate signals at the intermediate frequency. A second phase-shifter comprises two passive phase-shifter cells comprising resistive and capacitive components and respectively connected to the outputs of the two mixers to introduce a further phase quadrature relationship between the two intermediate signals.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 1995Date of Patent: October 14, 1997Assignee: France TelecomInventor: Jean Michel Fournier

Patent number: 5669821Abstract: An easily modifiable ride is provided with a track and a car for carrying at least one passenger along the track. The track creates changes of movement of the car to thereby produce G-forces to the passenger. A plurality of detectors are provided for detecting movements of the car. At least one display device is used for producing a series of images to create a displayed scenario of an amusement ride. There is also provided signal generators responsive to the detectors for synchronizing between the images and the movements of the car.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1994Date of Patent: September 23, 1997Inventors: James G. Patent number: 5669356Abstract: A two part pressure unloading delivery valve for a fuel injection pump comprises an annular valve member within which is slidable a plunger. The valve member is biased into engagement with a valve seat by means of a spring and is lifted from the seat by fuel under pressure supplied by the pump. The spring biases the plunger in the direction away from the seat and following closure of the valve member the plunger is moved in the direction towards the seat to allow relief of fuel under pressure from the pipeline connecting the valve with a fuel injection nozzle. After a predetermined movement of the plunger against the spring, damping means in part defined by a piston on the plunger, acts to damp the further movement of the plunger.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1995Date of Patent: September 23, 1997Assignee: Lucas IndustriesInventors: Robin Christopher Wall, Trevor Alan Fuller
