Abstract: An optical liquid level sensor utilizing both a prismatic member for the light refraction when immersed in and surrounded by a liquid and its effects for the indication of the presence and absence, selectively, of the liquid level. This level indication is provided in the subject case through a target plate bearing letter codes and legends, respectively, which are recognized and standardized in this trade and which become visible at the onset and for the duration of an acceptable liquid level situation; otherwise; a messageless image appears in the sensor. The illuminated target plate allows also for the observation of the color and any color change of the liquid and the taking of remedial actions.

Abstract: A device using intentionally introduced centrifugal force to direct particles suspended in a liquid to peripherally arranged contact members and to detain them there through the static pressure caused by the peripherally moving liquid.The device separates the ferrous, magnetizable, from the nonferrous, not magnetizable, particles by providing a magnetic capturing unit having a diameter smaller than that of the aforementioned contact member arrangement, so that ferrous particles will be retained by magnetism and so indicated, while nonferrous ones will be detained by the radially more outwardly located contact members and indicated accordingly. Individual indications of, especially nonferrous particle accumulations, are provided for at least two particle magnitude ranges.

Abstract: A cover and integral straining relief mechanism for an electrical cable multiprong connector, including a two-piece cover utilizing identical and interconnecting halves assembling as a whole connector, mount, and cover. A strain relief mechanism utilizing a cubical insert is included. The cubical insert is a plunger-like mechanism containing teeth-like undulation along its side which interact in a ratcheting fashion with mating undulations within the connector cover. The plunger is inserted into at least one opening in the connector and comes into contact with a cable entering the connector through the remaining and unused opening. The plunger comes into contact with the insulation about said electrical cable such as to hold the cable securely within the connector, thereby providing strain relief action.

Abstract: This invention is a pocket sized, block shaped device for storing the powder, projectiles and trouble shooting tools necessary for the rapid loading of the flintlock type, muzzle loading firearms, when used in the field. The device permits the user to premeasure a plurality of gunpowder charges into cavities bored into the body of the device, for later successive release by means of a novel sliding release mechanism. A dispenser for priming powder is frictionally housed within the body of the device for easy access and use. In addition, the user can insert a plurality of patched projectiles into sleeves bored into the device for successive release, later, when needed in the field. The device also houses an array of tools needed for maintenance of the gun and trouble shooting under field conditions.

Abstract: An axe head, for splitting wood is disclosed. The outside surface of the axe head has a convex shape, while the upper portion of the inside surface has a concave shape. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the entire inside surface of the axe head, has a concave shape. The combination of the convex and concave outer and inside surfaces of the axe head enhance the axe's ability to split wood.

Abstract: An apparatus for the distillation of a fluid containing at least two constituent components is disclosed. The apparatus includes a microwave energy source and a solar energy collector, both of which may be used to heat a subject fluid to a greater temperature for the purpose of distillation of same. Further, the disclosed invention combines a vacuum within the apparatus to facilitate operation and enhance the overall energy efficiency of the apparatus.

Abstract: A safety edge switching device for a door wherein a resiliently compressible structure is enclosed by a flexible, impervious sheet covering, and the interior compartment is airtight, forming a pressurized cell, where the pressurization of the cell is user adjustable. A variation of the disclosed invention includes a twin-cell design which provides for additional control uses in safety edge switching functions. Also, a manufacturing method for construction of the invention is disclosed.

Abstract: An apparatus or guide to aid in inserting the needle of syringes and the like into body conduits such as veins, is disclosed. The apparatus includes a pair of members which are placed on the opposite sides of a vein, parallel to the longitudinal axis thereof, thereby preventing lateral movement of the vein while it is being pierced by the needle. In an embodiment of the invention a guide is provided to aid in inserting the needle to the desired depth.

Abstract: A low cost apparatus adapted to permit shelf type vending machines adapted to sell small items such as candy bars to be modified so that larger items such as cakes and pies can be sold therefrom. The apparatus comprises a panel which fits onto a shelf of the machine so as to widen it to accomodate such larger items. Ease of assembly is assured by having the panel engage the shelf with a pair of runners which engage the sides of said shelf and hold it in place with a friction fit.

Abstract: A game board apparatus adapted to play a wide variety of optionally chosen games. The apparatus includes a game board having an elevated rectangular coordinate gridded playing area adapted to cooperate with various playing pieces and space limiters to create an almost infinite variety of playing patterns. The apparatus further includes playing pieces adapted to be used for playing word games, traveling games and the like and a random piece selector designed to increase the element of luck while still placing a premium on playing skill.
