  • Patent number: 7904629
Abstract: A virtualization of the internal interconnection bus, which results in a virtualized switch or virtualized multi-ported bridge. In the case of a PCI Express switch, one embodiment includes virtualization of the undefined interconnection bus. In the case of a Multi-ported bridge, one embodiment includes virtualization of the internal PCI/PCI-X bus. Through virtualization of the internal interconnection bus, the integrated circuit topology (the physical bridges and ports) may advantageously be spatially separated and remotely distributed far a field from the host computer, yet appear to the host system and host system software as single physical device (i.e. a normal PCIe switch or a normal multi-ported bridge).

  • Patent number: 7878417
Abstract: A multifunctional restrictive valve for controlling the flow of water therethrough. The valve has a main body with a flow channel through the main body. The main body receives water upstream thereof through an inlet port and passes it out through an outlet port at the downstream end of the body. A flow control assembly is located in the flow channel and includes a temperature sensor/actuator acting on a piston to move, when the temperature sensor heats up the piston, to block water flow control ports. The flow control assembly also includes an override feature wherein the piston is located within a slide and the flow control ports are located in the slide. By moving the slide away from the piston when the piston is blocking the flow control ports, the temperature sensor and piston may be overridden and flow may resume through the main body.

  • Patent number: 7821422
Abstract: A novel system and method of integrating an RF emissions device, such as a radar system (103A), within a traffic control indicator (101) system. The system and method determines, using LFM-CW radar signals (201) and a multi-stage spectral processing algorithm (600), if one or more object/vehicle targets will enter an intersection and comprises receiving a radar echo response (203) indicating the object/vehicle target (104) is approaching the intersection, receiving range and velocity of the object/vehicle targets (104), and based on the receiving, determining if the object/vehicle target (104) will enter the intersection. The system and method can programmatically be configured to activate red-light-hold, green-light-extension, or left-turn-warning.

  • Patent number: 7803132
Abstract: A syringe includes a hollow barrel, a hollow plunger movable within the barrel and a needle assembly secured within and at a distal end of the barrel. The needle assembly includes a needle holder, a resilient member that biases the needle holder toward the proximal end opening of the barrel, and a retaining member releasably secured to the needle holder via a reduced material section. The retaining member maintains the needle holder at the distal end of the barrel against the bias of the resilient member. When the plunger is fully depressed within the barrel, the plunger engages the needle holder such that the retaining member is forced to break away and separate from the needle holder along the reduced material section to facilitate retraction of the needle holder and a needle secured to the needle holder into the retraction cavity disposed within the plunger.

  • Patent number: 7752372
Abstract: A device, system and method adapted to expand a high speed data bus, such as a PCI Express (PCIe) bus, over a serial link with an expansion unit having a high speed data bus, such as a PCIe bus, without using a bridging or switching device. One primary advantage of not using a bridge or switch is that the expansion interface is completely transparent to the BIOS, processor, CPU, OS, or any other component(s) on the host motherboard be they hardware, firmware, or software. This invention does not require additional protocols such as TCP/IP, Serial ATA, Gigabit Ethernet, etc. There is also no implicit hardware or device driver latency resulting from a bridge or switch.

  • Patent number: 7557541
Abstract: The object of the invention is a method for charging a rechargeable battery having non-liquid electrolyte, which battery has an internal resonance frequency. The charging process contains at least one charging interval performed with current pulses, the frequency of said current pulses is essentially identical with the internal resonance frequency of the battery to be charged. Following the charging interval consists of periodic current pulses optionally a second relaxation interval is inserted, in which no charging current is applied to the rechargeable battery, within which optionally a second discharging interval is applied. After the second relaxation interval the charging is performed in an interval consists of a continuous charging current, whereafter an optional first relaxation interval is inserted, within which optionally a second discharging interval is applied. This sequence of the above steps can be varied and applied repeatedly until the full charge of the battery is attained.

  • Patent number: 7504577
Abstract: A system and methods which allow even a novice performer to easily play music which is not disharmonious and which is pleasing to the performer and his or her audience. The music is preferably created by a performer breaking one or more beams of light, which are emitted by one or more beam emitters and received, or detected, by one or more beam detectors. When a beam detector determines that a beam has been broken, a trigger is sent to a synthesizer, with such synthesizer preferably being a computer interfaced to the beam detectors via a Universal Serial Bus connection. The synthesizer selects from one or more electronic sounds, based on a pre-programmed collection of sounds, and a sound generator, such as an amplifier and speakers, plays the sound.
