  • Patent number: 4357806
Abstract: This invention is directed to a variable air volume cooling system for a building which utilized changes in the diameter of the belt going around a two piece driver pulley and a follower two piece driven pulley to effect changes in fan speed and, accordingly, the air volume supplied. A control means to operate a servo-motor connected to the driver pulley provides for separating the two piece driven pulley to slow the fan, driving the two pieces of the driven pulley together to speed up the fan, and for maintaining the same speed should a desired temperature range be obtained. The control compares the temperature of the area to be cooled with the speed of the fan to produce its outputs. Deadband operation is provided to eliminate toggling and other excesses of output reversals.

  • Patent number: 4334651
Abstract: This apparatus is an automatic winder of roofing material utilizing hydraulic power to operate pull rollers at increased speed; to operate a knife and anvil with greatly reduced shock and noise; to enable a high speed mandrel to be loaded and unloaded more accurately and more rapidly while minimizing misfeed occurences; to provide for automatic shutdown in case of malfunction, to isolate the sheet material from all but the pull rollers and the mandrel while the winding operation is in progress; and provide a sound reducing hydraulic reservoir within the frame of the machine to absorb shocks and noise. Accommodation for minimum flexing of the sheet material is provided. This invention is directed to an automatic hydraulic roll winder, and more particularly, to an apparatus for automatically winding, measuring, cutting, and removing web materials using hydraulic power.

  • Patent number: 4302048
Abstract: A collapsible chair made primarily of canvas and hardwood made up of two sides each having an arm, a front and a back leg, and a bottom connecting member between the front and the back legs. Canvas seat and back are mounted in grooves in each of the two sides with stretcher means to enable assembly of the sides, seat and back means to be a very comfortable occasional chair. In assembly, the back stretcher means must be inserted before the stretchers for the front and the bottom connecting member. In disassembly, the front and bottom stretchers must be knocked out before the back stretcher can be removed after moving the front legs towards each other.

  • Patent number: 4030765
Abstract: This invention is directed to an apparatus having a number of individual storage compartments for a plurality of game pieces. The pieces are used in a number of board games. Some pieces are unique to one game, and some pieces are common to two or more games. Selection of desired game pieces is obtained by placing a template, with discretely positioned holes cut therein, over the storage apparatus, blocking access to all compartments except those containing the desired pieces for the particular game. Those desired pieces can then be removed either manually or by turning the apparatus upside down allowing the pieces to fall out. The template is then left in place until the pieces are again ready for storage, thus facilitating the replacement of the pieces into their proper compartments in the storage apparatus.
