Abstract: A water tight molding for sealing and protecting a joint formed by the intersection of two surfaces. An underlying molding piece spans the joint and is adhesively attached to the two surfaces in a water tight manner. An outer molding piece is held in spaced relation to the underlying piece by spaced apart connecting members. The outer molding piece prevents water from directly acting on the joint. The underlying molding piece directs water draining from one surface away from the joint downwardly to the other surface.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for processing shrimp and like arthropoda, comprising a housing, positively driven transport means disposed within the housing and containing a plurality of peripherally extending needles for engaging and impaling deheaded shrimp in a predetermined attitude to sequentially advance them through a plurality of operating stations in a path, defined at least in part, by a selectively shaped tunnel within said housing. The entry to said tunnel is contoured to properly orient the shrimp and to facilitate its initial positioning and displacement relative to the transport means by pneumatic forces. At the first operating station, the relatively thin abdominal shell or membrane disposed on the ventral side of the first five shell segments is longitudinally severed and the interconnection between the swimmerettes and the shrimp body is disrupted.
Abstract: Multicourse liner construction for a fluidized bed reaction chamber for the chlorination of alumina bearing material including a reaction-chamber-defining inner course of essentially non-reactive carbon, an outer course of heat insulating refractory material, and an intermediate course of high density and essentially non-reactive material to minimize undesired flow of reactant chlorine externally of said reaction chamber.
Abstract: An improved beta backscatter instrument for the non-destructive measurement of the thickness of thin coatings on a substrate. Included therein is the utilization of a bank of memory stored data representative of isotope, substrate, coating material and thickness range characteristics in association with a control card having predetermined indicia thereon selectively representative of a particular isotope, substrate material, coating material and thickness range for conditioning electronic circuit means by memory stored data selected in accord with the predetermined indicia on a control card for converting backscattered beta particle counts into indicia of coating thickness.
Abstract: An improved filter bag mounting assembly for fabric type dust collectors compositely constituted of a selectively shaped mounting and filter media supporting member adapted for removable insertion in a complementally sized receiving aperture in a tube sheet, a filter media sheathed retainer assembly terminally connected at one end, in releasably latched gas tight relation to the mounting member and a closure plug disposed in the other terminal end of said media sheathed retainer and secured thereto in releasable gas tight latched relation.

Abstract: A film-forming anti-transpirant concentrate for plants selectively constituted of a homogeneous intermixture of emulsifiable oxidized polyethylenes having molecular weights in the range of from about 1000 to about 3400 and selectively constituted polyterpenes having molecular weights in the range of from about 270 to about 1800 for dilutable ambient temperature controllable application to plants to form long lived protective films of determinable thickness on the surface thereof.
Abstract: Control card receiving and sensing assembly including a fixed base plate, a generally U-shaped cover member mounted thereon and card entry defining means of a character such as to permit card insertion therebetween and removal therefrom only under conditions where essentially zero force is exerted on the card control surfaces.
Abstract: An improved electrode construction for apparatus for testing the integrity of thru-hole plating in printed circuit boards and the like by measuring the effective thickness thereof. A first conically shaped electrode assembly is adapted to be displaced along a predetermined path into engagement with one of the defining marginal perimetric edges of a plated thru-hole in a circuit board. A second and complementally shaped electrode assembly is adapted to be displaced into engagement with the other defining marginal perimetric edge of the thru-hole. Each of such electrode assemblies includes a pair of discrete selectively contoured electrode elements adapted to make line contact with the marginal defining edges of the thru-hole, whereby a predetermined magnitude of constant current can be passed through the plating intermediate one pair of electrode elements, and the voltage drop developed thereby across the thru-hole plating measured by the other pair of electrode elements.
