  • Patent number: 4829315
Abstract: The invention comprises a switching mechanism for a micro wave signal dish receiver apparatus. The mechanism has means for switching a wave guide of a 12 GHZ frequency signal into and out of concentric alignment with the center of a 4 GHZ wave guide of the apparatus. The 12 GHZ wave guide when switched out of alignment is retracted so as not to interfere with the 4 GHZ wave guide while the 4 GHZ wave guide is made operative to receive a signal of that frequency. The mechanism can project the 12 GHZ guide into the center of the 4 GHZ wave guide to receive a signal of a 12 GHZ frequency at the same focal point substantially as the focal point of the 4 GHZ, without the 4 GHZ wave guide interfering with the 12 GHZ wave guide operation.

  • Patent number: 4823504
Abstract: The invention comprises a trapping apparatus having a pair of jaws pivotally connected together at their ends. The apparatus has a strap mounted to the trap and has a magnet mounted to the strap. The magnet magnetically engages a metal culvert intermediate its height of the culvert with the magnet being sufficient to magnetically support the magnet, strap, and trap to the culvert intermediate the height of the culvert. The culvert is of a type installation wherein there is a waterway therethrough with the surface of the water in the culvert just below the magnetically secured location of the trap whereby animals will swim through the waterway in the culvert near the surface of the water therein and are likely to engage and trigger the trap and be trapped by the trap.

  • Patent number: 4782612
Abstract: The invention comprises an animal identification tag. The tag is a plastic sheet preformed into a sspiral shape to form several overlapping spiral layers from one end to the other. The sheet is formed of resilient material whereby the outer spiral layer may be separated from the next adjacent layer along its outer edge so that a cow's tail of conventional size may be slipped between laterally of the length of the tail and the tag may be rotated to slide the tail between the spiral layers until the tail is located inside the innermost spiral layer. The tag has a preformed spiral shape wherein the innermost spiral layer has a diameter when unstraightened that is slightly smaller than the outside diameter of a small cow's tail so that the tag will compress back, after straightening, toward its smaller diameter and thereby snuggly engage the tail of cows of varying sizes to retain the tag on the tail. The tag has indicia along its outermost spiral layer to identify the cow.

  • Patent number: 4646553
Abstract: The invention comprises a hydraulic press for attachment to one of a plurality of shanks of an earth working implement. The press has a lateral base with a pair of spaced notches which form channels for the shank to be positioned in when the press is attached to the shank. A hydraulic cylinder has one end pivotally mounted to the frame of the press and its other end hydraulically actuates a piston which upon actuation telescopes the piston toward the shank intermediately between the spaced notches to engage the shank between the spaced notches, with the notches restraining outer portions of the shank against movement with the piston as it moves, while the piston moves against the intermediate portion and moves the intermediate portion thereby bending the shank.

  • Patent number: 4624497
Abstract: The invention comprises an air deflection apparatus for a truck of the cab-over engine type of construction having a dual pair of flanges adapted to be mounted to the front face of the truck with the flanges at an acute projecting angle on each side of the radiator on the front face of the truck so that the flanges provide a tapered surface on the front face to deflect air off at an angle to the side of the truck. The tapered surfaces provide less resistance to the flow of air against and past the truck during forward movement of the truck than there would be with the conventional front face of such a truck which is perpendicular to the air flow and this thereby increases the efficiency and mileage of the truck by the reduced power required because of there being less air resistance to the truck movement.

  • Patent number: 4596206
Abstract: The invention comprises an apparatus for treatment of seeds with liquid insecticide-fungicide and other materials. The apparatus has an opening at its upper end formed by a wall for receiving seeds for treatment with the liquid. A cone is mounted beneath the opening to deflect and spread the seed outward evenly about the cone as they travel down the outer surfaces of the cone. Adjustable plates are mounted in the opening to vary the size for matching the incoming flow to direct the seeds onto the center of the cone, the wall has circumferential overflow openings spaced above the lower edge of the wall. A lever is provided to raise and lower the cone with respect to the wall whereby the movement of the cone upward moves the cone sufficiently close to the wall so as to slow the amount of seeds traveling off the cone to allow the seeds to build up and constantly fill the annular space formed between the cone and wall with a constant overflow through the overflow openings.

  • Patent number: 4234224
Abstract: The invention comprises a truck box cover device. The device has a rod with a rectangular tarp attached to the rod at its one end and attached to the edge of a truck box at its other end. The tarp is rolled onto the rod toward the edge of the truck box where the outer end of the tarp is attached to uncover the open top of a truck box, and is unrolled in the opposite direction to cover the truck box. A pair of ropes are attached to the outer ends of the rod at one end of the ropes. The outer ends of the ropes are attached to springs and the springs are attached to the sides of the truck box. As the tarp is unrolled the ropes are wound onto the rod. The springs act to place tension on the rope and clearly place tension on the rods and thereby urge the tarp in a straight line toward an unrolled position and thereby act to keep the tarp straight.

  • Patent number: 4079800
Abstract: The invention comprises a control apparatus for controlling the speed of the drive of a front end loader. The apparatus has a pair of hydrostatic motors for powering the input gear of the transfer case wherein the output gear of the transfer case drives the front and rear wheels of the loader. A control cylinder actuates a control mechanism to vary the speed of the two motors in sequence. A pair of foot pedals are provided to gradually actuate the pump to the two motors in opposite directions. The two foot pedals also actuate the control cylinder to actuate the two motors. Each foot pedal is depressable and during its initial depression action actuates the pump gradually in one direction or the other, and upon completion of the pump acceleration and any additional depression action actuates the control cylinder to actuate the two motors in sequence.
