  • Patent number: 5166861
Abstract: A switchboard for mounting and supplying electrical power to a plurality of circuit breakers. The switchboard comprises a frame including a center mounting pan, and at least first and second circuit breaker mounting pans for engaging and supporting the rear end portions of the circuit breakers. The switchboard also comprises a power stack assembly mounted on the center mounting pan of the frame. The power stack assembly includes first, second and third, substantially vertically disposed main bus bar members for being connected to a source of electrical power and for releasably engaging the circuit breakers. The first main bus bar member is selectively spaced from the center mounting pan with insulator members so as to define a first ventilation passageway therebetween. The second main bus bar member is selectively spaced from the first main bus bar member with insulator members so as to define a second ventilation passageway therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4222434
Abstract: A heat-exchanger composed of a body of ceramic sponge defining randomly located interconnected walls bounding a plurality of randomly located interconnected cavities and a plurality of elongate heat-conductive members embedded in the body and having a surface in heat-exchanging relation with the body and an end zone at the surface of the body and another opposite end zone which is located depthwise in the body, so that, heat may be conducted between the interior of the body and the surface of the body along the heat-conductive members. The heat-conductive members may be of suitable material, such as silicon carbide or metallic glass. In another case a silicon carbide rod is attached to a ceramic plate so as to conduct heat directly from one side of the plate to the other. A method of increasing the efficiency of a tube heat exchanger with sponge baffles is described. A method of resistance heating of an auto catalytic converter is detailed.

  • Patent number: 4215444
Abstract: A doorless shower stall which confines water such that it cannot be sprayed nor splashed outside of the stall is disclosed. The stall includes a shower chamber area which is enclosed except for an entry passage to the shower chamber. Connected to the shower chamber area by the entry passage is an antechamber having a primary entry way which leads outside of the shower stall and which primary entry way is substantially perpendicular to the entry passage into the shower chamber. In a preferred embodiment, the shower stall is manufactured of molded fiberglass or other material which includes a floor which slopes such that water in the antechamber runs away from the primary entry way and through the entry passage into the shower chamber. The floor of the shower chamber is itself sloped toward a drain located at a desired location in the shower chamber. The shower stall may further include a molded fiberglass cap or ceiling to further prevent escaping moisture from causing damage outside of the shower stall.
