  • Patent number: 6234614
Abstract: A CIJ printer has a drop generator and a mount. The mounting of the drop generator on the mount is by a pair of fixing screws locating in countersunk screw-threaded bores in the drop generator and disposed in the resilient bushings located in corresponding bores in the mount. To reduce the transfer of ultrasonic vibrations and mounting stresses imposed on the drop generator, two pairs of point contacts protrude between the mount and the drop generator. Each pair being in alignment with the centre of a respective one of the fixing screws and on respective lines perpendicular to a line connecting the centers of the fixing screws.

  • Patent number: 6223885
Abstract: An apparatus for conveying conveyable material. The apparatus includes a plurality of cars joined together by a plurality of spacers. The spacers couple the cars a fixed distance apart to form a shuttle. The shuttle is guided along a track between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the shuttle is aligned with a first group of supports. The shuttle in the first position receives conveyable material from the supports. The shuttle in the second position is aligned with a second group of supports. The shuttle disposes the conveyable material from each of the cars carrying the conveyable material to the second group of supports. A drive means repeatedly drives the shuttle between the first position and the second position. The cars remain the fixed distance apart during the driving between the first position and the second position.

  • Patent number: 6222130
Abstract: The present invention is for a high performance data cable which has an interior support or star separator. The star separator or interior support extends along the longitudinal length of the data cable. The star separator or interior support has a central region. A plurality of prongs or splines extend outward from the central region along the length of the central region. Each prong or spline is adjacent with at least two other prongs or splines. The prongs or splines may be helixed or S-Z shaped as they extend along the length of the star separator or interior support. Each pair of adjacent prongs or splines defines grooves which extend along the longitudinal length of the interior support. At least two of the grooves have disposed therein an insulated conductor. The star separator in particular improves control of near end cross-talk and allows for the achievement of positive ACR ratios when twisted pair conductors are disposed in the grooves.

  • Patent number: 6206509
Abstract: We provide a method of printing using a multi-nozzle ink jet print head having a pressure modulator for causing streams of ink emitted from the nozzles to be broken up into individual droplets. The nozzles are divided into a plurality of groups of nozzles, and groups of charge electrodes correspond, each group of charge electrodes having a respective charge controller. In the method a modulation waveform is generated to operate the pressure modulator to cause droplets to be generated in each stream. Independently for each group of charge electrodes, the respective charge controller is operated to supply a charge signal waveform to each charge electrode in turn, the phase of the charge signal waveform relative to the modulation waveform is adjusted between 0 and 360 degrees in a number of steps, and the optimum phase relationship to achieve proper charging for each droplet stream is determined in turn.
