Patent number: 6033285Abstract: A toy vehicle includes a chassis and a body mounted to the chassis. An electro-mechanical vibration generator is operatively connected with the chassis. The vibration generator is preferably an electric motor having a weight attached to the shaft of the motor. A light source and a sound source are each operatively connected with the body. A propulsion mechanism is connected with the chassis. Operation of the propulsion mechanism causes the toy vehicle to move across the medium on which it rests. An electrical circuit and an electrical power source are each connected with the vibration generator, the light source, the sound source and the propulsion mechanism. The electrical circuit controls the sequence and timing of the connected components to provide at least one sequence of events. A switch is connected with the electrical circuit. Upon activation of the switch, the electrical circuit initiates the sequence of events.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1998Date of Patent: March 7, 2000Assignee: Marvel Enterprises, Inc.Inventors: Alan Fine, Paul Nielsen

Patent number: 5758832Abstract: An apparatus and method for recycling glass waste comprising glass and non-glass materials. The apparatus has a device for receiving and presizing the glass waste to produce presized glass waste. A first conveyor receives the presized glass waste and transfers it to a storage hopper. The presized glass waste is then transported to an impact mill via a second conveyor. The rate of movement of the second conveyor is regulated by a control device located within the impact mill. In the impact mill, the glass component of the glass waste is beat off the non-glass component of the glass waste to produce a pulverized mixture. The pulverized mixture is then sent to a screening device via a third conveyor. In the screening device, the glass and non-glass material are separated from the pulverized mixture and collected for reuse.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1997Date of Patent: June 2, 1998Assignee: Grainger AssociatesInventor: Walter T. Grainger

Patent number: 5676549Abstract: Toy painting apparatuses which provide means for finger painting a substrate without the user coming into direct contact with the paint. The painting apparatus has paint dispensing means and also provides a relatively thin, flexible, transparent, protective barrier between liquid paints that are dispensed onto the surface of a substrate and a user's fingers. The apparatus allows a user to apply paint to a substrate, such as paper, and manipulate the paint by smearing it with fingers, trowels, rollers and other similar implements which are moved across the surface of the barrier.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1995Date of Patent: October 14, 1997Assignee: Toy Biz, Inc.Inventors: Abraham A. Patent number: 5533920Abstract: A self-propelled musical toy rolling ball which plays musical tunes and sound effects. The ball may also include decorative images on its surface which may generally correspond to the musical tune or sound effects played by the ball. The electronics of the ball, once energized, operate to propel the ball and simultaneously activate an integrated circuit sound effects chip which plays first sound sequence, typically a musical tune. When the ball bumps into a wall or other object, the propulsion mechanism, typically a drive motor which may be transmissivly connected to a central axis shaft, is disengaged and the circuit then plays a second sound sequence, typically a randomly selected pre-programmed sound effect from one of a plurality of different sounds. Thereafter, the propelling mechanism is again activated and the ball resumes playing the musical tune.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1995Date of Patent: July 9, 1996Assignee: Toy Biz, Inc.Inventors: Abraham A.
