Abstract: An illuminated tongue depressor is formed by an elongated relatively narrow body having a handle end portion containing a battery and a proximal end portion having a curvature conforming to the larynx defining a convex top surface and a concave ventral surface having a friction inducing antislip texture adjacent its proximal end. A lamp imbedded in the top surface is connected with the battery by wiring through a switch. A sanitary disposable sheath envelopes the proximal end portion of the body.

Abstract: A knockdown telescopically expandable elevated utility rack for pickup trucks is formed by forward and rearward H-shaped stanchions and stanchion post receiving brackets overlying pickup bed side walls. A forward stanchion panel and a rearward stanchion bottom rail forms a horizontal load support adjacent the upper limit of pickup bed side walls and a side rail assembly overlying the upper limit of the stanchions and the pickup cab forms an elevated load supporting platform.

Abstract: Water well pump plunger efficiency is improved by providing a pair of upwardly open outwardly flared wall cups surrounding a pump plunger and supported in superposed relation by a sleeve in the lowermost cup. A fluid passageway through the base of the uppermost cup insures filling the lowermost cup on the plunger upstroke.

Abstract: Pairs of laterally adjustable planar brackets supporting fluorescent lamp terminal posts are provided with individual lamp reflectors extending between and secured to opposing pairs of cooperating brackets for retrofitting existing fluorescent lamp fixtures with improved fluorescent lamps and reflectors.

Abstract: A child supporting toy boat is formed by an airplane type hull forming fuselage having laterally projecting wings terminating in a pair of ovate pods adding buoyancy to the craft. A bulkhead divides the fuselage to form a forward closed motor and battery containing compartment and a cylindrical rearwardly open end portion supplied with water through wall opening rearwardly of the bulkhead. A motor driven shaft extending rearwardly through the bulkhead drives a propeller in the cylindrical end portion and propels the craft in response to a control shaft projecting upwardly through the fuselage and operated by a child seated on the fuselage.

Abstract: A method of detecting leaks in a forced air furnace heat exchanger combustion chamber wall burning a blue color flame of gas includes introducing a fine mist of a liquid fire retardant compound into the return air stream upstream from a blower forcing air across the wall of the combustion chamber. Any change in the blue color of the flame toward an orange color indicates a gas leak through the combustion chamber wall.

Abstract: A drive under new automotive hail protection roof hip-and-valley cable-tension type canopy is formed by a rectangular grid pattern of rigid post assemblies joined at their upper ends by longitudinally, transversely and diagonally extending cables forming a coextensive fabric roof support.

Abstract: In a single glass pane type storm door frame formed by stiles and end rails the glass is supported in the frame by a ventilating assembly interposed between the pane and storm door frame. The ventilating assembly includes an H-shaped member, in cross section, having a first pair of legs adjacent and secured to the door frame inner priphery and provided with transversely aligned apertures, opened and closed by a ventilation control member slidably disposed adjacent one leg of said first pair of legs and moved by a control knob projecting laterally of the door frame for opening and closing the ventilating openings.

Abstract: A large diameter in-the-field resettable rupture pin relief valve is formed by superposed valves normally closing a valve inlet port and released to open the port under excess pressure by collapsing the pin. Pressure operated cylinders connected with the superposed valves and pin supports reposition these components for replacing the collapsed pin without exhausting all fluid pressure in the valve.

Abstract: A method of making relief valve interchangeable buckling pins for selecting the pressure release setting of a relief valve. Comprises selecting a slender column having a uniform diameter of predetermined dimension cutting the column to a predetermined length and axially bonding a pair of right circular cylindrical adapters to respective end portions of the slender column to achieve a longitudinal dimension compatible with a given pressure relief valve.

Abstract: A pressure relief valve trigger is formed by a diaphragm chamber communicating with fluid in a container being monitored by a pressure collapisible pin axially maintaining the diaphragm in the chamber in a given position. A flapper valve latch member released by movement of the diaphragm in response to collapse of the pin releases a flapper valve on the container to open in response to fluid pressure above a predetermined value biasing the diaphragm to a pin collapsed position.

Abstract: A fluid dispensing valve for a liquid container having a pouring spout is formed by an inner sleeve axially connected to the spout of a liquid container. The other end of the inner sleeve is closed and provided with wall outlet ports. An outer sleeve slidably surrounds the closed end portion of the inner sleeve for covering and uncovering the inner sleeve wall ports. The outwardly flared end of a funnel-type tube secured to the periphery of the outer sleeve projects beyond the closed end of the inner sleeve for entering a port of a receiving vessel at its other end portion. The valve is opened by axial force applied to the inner sleeve opposite its closed end which moves relative to the outer sleeve and uncovers the wall ports. Releasing the axial pressure on the inner sleeve allows a spring interposed between a shoulder or the inner sleeve and adjacent end of the outer sleeve to bias the latter toward and cover the inner sleeve ports.

Abstract: A hay bale turntable for angularly rotating a rectangular jumbo size hay bale 90.degree. about its longitudnal axis while lowering the bale as it is received from a baler chamber to the surface of the earth is formed by a rigid bale support frame connected with the rearward end of a hay baler frame below the exit end of the hay baler bale chamber. A bale lowering arm frame is pivotally connected with the support frame for vertical pivoting movement toward and away from the surface of the earth. The arm frame supports a bale receiving platform having a bearing centrally interposed between the platform and the arm frame for angular rotation of the platform as the arm frame lowers it toward the surface of the earth by a fluid pressure cylinder connected with the support frame and arm frame. The cylinder is actuated for pivoting the arm frame by a fluid pressure pilot valve on the platform triggered by an overlying bale.

Abstract: An elongated upright rectangular frame surrounds a backboard having a front surface overlaid by a coextensive section of fabric material is provided with a monofilament strand tautly stretched across the fabric and backboard front and back surface from opposing sides thereof defining a series of longitudinally spaced parallel runs of the strand on the visable portion of the backboard for supporting a plurality of jewelry pieces when placed thereon. The frame further includes a plurality of shelves supported by vertically spaced pairs of knobs on the inner surfaces of opposite side panels of the frame. A shelf and drawer unit is similarly removably supported by pairs of knobs in which the drawers may be separately removed from the unit or the entire unit removed from the frame. Additionally, a series of horizontally inwardly projecting dowel-like rods support necklaces and the like.

Abstract: A soccer player's ball control apparatus is formed by a ball rebounding net tautly supported within a rectangular frame joined in right angular relation with a soccer goal frame and goal net. When the soccer goal frame is disposed on the surface of the earth, the ball rebound net and frame is disposed upright for rebounding balls kicked or thrown there against. When the rebounding net is flatly disposed on the surface of the earth, the soccer goal and net is in an upright position for receiving balls kicked through the goal frame.

Abstract: A tube fishing reversible footwear fin having a tongue end portion projecting beyond a user's footwear is formed by a generally rectangular planar fin pivotally attached intermediate its ends to the bottom surface of the sole of a boot binding for angular rotation in either direction relative to the sole about a vertical pivoting axis. Indexing pins depending from the sole and releasably nested by an index aperture in the fin permit a user to manually rotate the fin 180.degree. in either direction while supported by a float tube to dispose the elongated tongue end portion of the fin forwardly or rearwardly of his footwear and move forwardly or backward, as desired.

Abstract: A gooseneck trailer locking apparatus is formed by a pair of elongated telescoping members having a hitch ball and chain lock at one end for connection with the king pin of a goooseneck trailer. The other end of the telescoping members is provided with a clevis element lockably closely surrounding the depending portion of a trailer leveling and supporting jack by a clevis arm and lock securing the clevis to the jack.

Abstract: A speed wrench is formed by threadedly connecting a handle extension to the end of a ratcheting wrench handle opposite the wrench head for increasing torque of the handle. The wrench handle opposite the head is centrally bored for slidably receiving a rod member hingedly connected with the handle extension permitting the handle extension to be disposed normal to the longitudinal axis of the handle and moving the wrench handle in speed wrench fashion through a selected arc in tightening or loosening a nut.
