  • Patent number: 8025907
Abstract: A cosmetic composition consists of a combination of peptides that regenerate the dermal matrix and a rapid acting muscle relaxant derived from the extract of the plant, Acmella oleracea. By limiting cutaneous deformation caused by the contraction of facial muscles the extract increases the efficiency of the peptides in reducing expression lines.

  • Patent number: 8002552
Abstract: A method and apparatus for toilet training for children or as an aid to urinary function for adults which presents two cues to the person. The first cue is an audible sound of water flowing. The second cue is visual observation of water flowing. The cues are presented in a structure which may be a rotatable hour glass shaped liquid containing device which permits the liquid to flow from one portion of the hour glass to the other when the device is rotated. A sound of flowing water is produced from sound storage means in the device. The liquid may be refilled or it may be pre-sealed at the factory. Two plates are proved at the ends of the hour glass to house a picture in one and a mirror in the other. The structure may be utilized free-standing, or attached to a rotatable base which, in turn, may be fixedly or removably mounted on a surface.

  • Patent number: 7850677
Abstract: A universal valve for the Foley type urinary catheter has structure which permits its use as a patient controlled drainage valve, as an interface from which to take sterile samples, and as a connection to a day or night collection bag all without removal of the universal valve from the Foley type urinary catheter. The universal valve may be open or closed by the use of a squeeze mechanism for patient control, or by movement of the threaded connection between the universal valve and a collection bag so that the universal valve is continuously open for drainage into the urine collection bag.

  • Patent number: 7527168
Abstract: A manually operated dispenser for medicated or non-medicated orally dissolving strips provided in roll form cuts portions of the roll to a predetermined size in the manner of the strips currently available in single sheets and housed in the vial shown in patent Des. 423,302. The roll of orally dissolving strips is stored in one portion of a disposable cassette. Manually operable spring loaded means causes the roll in the cassette to advance thereby peeling the medicated or non-medicated portion of the strip form a carrier layer and presenting the portion of predetermined strip length to a cutting blade, then slicing the strip from the roll. The waste carrier layer is stored in another portion of the disposable cassette.

  • Patent number: 7494239
Abstract: An attachment for cell phones contains a light and bottle opener. The attachment may be affixed to or be removably attached to the back of a cell phone and/or to a cell phone case. If removable, the structure attaches to the back of a cell phone or case via VELCRO® fastening. The removable light may be held in place by the bottle opener and/or by walls formed on the plate. In another embodiment, the bottle opener also serves as a spring loaded belt clip.

  • Patent number: 7338227
Abstract: A touch up system for applying small quantities of single or multi-component liquids to small surface areas. Each material or component is packaged, in the correct proportion, in a fluorinated plastic bottle. A dense foam roller is attached to the base component bottle. One of the other bottles utilize a spout tip cap to puncture an inductive barrier seal that is present on the opening of the base component bottle. Exposure to all coating components is eliminated and waste is minimized since material remaining in the bottle is minimal and can be disposed of by conventional methods. An angled roller wiper surface and an angled liquid output surface are provided.

  • Patent number: 6893428
Abstract: A hose barb connector or sanitary adapter connector can be attached to various types of containers intended for use in sterile operations, such as in a biotechnology and pharmaceutical fluid processing container system. An over-wrap bag such as a poly-bag (ZIP-LOC® or other type) attached by heat welding to a flange formed near the middle of the connector. The over-wrap bag maintains the sterility of the enclosed end of the connector. The other end of the connector is typically attached to a piece of tubing or conduit in communication with another larger bag, which has been rendered sterile collectively with the connector. Sterile fluids pumped into the bag, either though the connector itself, or through some other opening in the larger bag, will not be contaminated.

  • Patent number: 6880209
Abstract: A self propelled lawnmower protective component used to support the grass catcher door is formed of a plastic material that is more flexible than the polyethylene material used in the prior art. By using co-extrusion, two different plastics are extruded into one shape. When applied to the lawnmower structure, the adhesion between the basic profile and a co-extruded ball or flap is extremely tight. Metallocene olefin is the plastic material which, when compressed under load and heat, recovers its original shape, similar to a soft rubber product and still has the capability of adhering to the polyethylene profile, so as not to separate after continuous or repeated use.

  • Patent number: 6745925
Abstract: An automatic toll detector case, formed of flexible material, has sidewalls, front and rear walls, a bottom wall, and a folding cover. The cover folds so that an extended portion of the rear wall folds over the open top of the case to enclose the toll detector. The cover is fastened to the case by a hook and eye fastener. The case is mounted to the interior of the vehicle's windshield by suction cups attached to the flexible material of the case with an E clip.

  • Patent number: 6719486
Abstract: A screed where the installation is laid out with hollow ended pointed rods. The rods have markings on them to indicate the proper excavation depth for application s such as patio/walkway or d driveway. A grade pin or a jackhammer pin is inserted into the hollow ends of each rod to vertically position the rods to the proper elevation determined by surveying techniques. The pins are then replaced with U shaped rail supports. Rails are then inserted between supports. A screed board notched to ride on each rail is then used to smooth the surface of sub-base materials.

By using co-extrusion, two different plastics are extruded into one shape. When applied to the lawnmower structure, the adhesion between the basic profile and the co-extruded ball is extremely tight. TPE is the plastic material which, when compressed under load and heat, recovers its original shape, similar to a soft rubber product and still has the capability of adhering to the polyethylene profile, so as not to separate after continuous or repeated use and still return to its original shape. An additional volume of TPE may be formed within the ball to provide mechanical strength. The TPE used is SANTOPRENE®.

  • Patent number: 6523389
Abstract: A segmented pipe-bending die produces curvature across the pipe contacting surface of the die by varying the radii of the semi-circular pipe bending segments, or by offsetting the position of adjacent segments having equal or varying radii semi-circular apertures, laterally, longitudinally, or both. The pipe-bending die is formed from a plurality of metallic segments, which are affixed together. Each metallic segment of the die has a semi-circular pipe contacting surface portion. The radius of a plurality of the semi-circular pipe-contacting surface of each segment differs in length so that the pipe-contacting surface has a predetermined curvature formed by the resultant difference in height of the pipe contacting surface portions of each segment.
