  • Patent number: 6533068
Abstract: The combination ladder of this invention includes a pair of conventional ladder sections, being a first ladder section and a second ladder section. The two ladder sections being essentially the same. The ladder sections are connected together at one end with two upper connection assemblies and at the other end with two lower connection assemblies. Each connection assembly has a connector which are located in one of either a first position for providing a ladder configuration which allows the combination ladder to be used as an extension ladder or a second position for providing a ladder configuration which allows the combination ladder to be used as a stepladder. A pair of brace assemblies are stored along the first ladder section for the extension ladder and deployed for the stepladder. By simply moving the two upper connectors and the two lower connectors from the first position to the second position converts the configuration to conform with the intended use of the ladder.

  • Patent number: 6476523
Abstract: The present invention provides a timed electrical outlet strip or timed power supply. An outlet bar unit has a plurality of plug opening sets or receptacles for receiving a plug-in portion of an electrical plug-in component. Power is uniquely supplied to the outlet bar through a controller unit. The control unit has its own control power component. The power supply is time controlled to provide a clearly displayed and easily set time period when the outlet bar is activated. A clock is set to display real-time and to provide a reference signal for setting the activation period of the outlet strip. Activation times can be accurately set to the nearest minute or less. Times are display in the conventional twelve hour increments and time set portions may include different colors for the morning (AM) hours compared with the afternoon (PM) hours. Overload protection and an on-off switch is also provided. A continuous power supply is provided by setting the activation period equal to zero.

  • Patent number: 6471063
Abstract: The present invention provides a dispensing unit with a sealed enclosure containing a pill or pills which is provided by a cover attached to a flat base portion. The flat base portion is attached to a commonly used object using a first adhesive. The cover has a top bubble portion to provide space for the pill or pills and a bottom flange which is sealed to the flat base portion using a second adhesive. A tab portion of the cover is used to remove the cover from the base portion to access the pill enclosure. The pill or pills are attached to the top surface of the base portion using a third adhesive. The base portion is not displaced from the object when the cover is removed. The user can easily remove the pill or pills from the base portion by hand as the base portion remains attached to the object. A number of dispensing units can be made together on a larger base assembly with perforations to provide each individual base portion of a dispensing unit.

  • Patent number: 6462650
Abstract: The present invention provides a tire monitor apparatus and monitored vehicle tire. A module which monitors tire information is supported by a rubber ply affixed to the inside surface of the tire. The module has electrical components for monitoring tire information by collecting, storing and/or reading information about the tire. A retainer assembly is used to secure the module to the rubber ply such that the module is support within the tire's cavity. The module is mounted to be removed, exchanged, etc. In one embodiment, the monitor module may be isolated from tire loads such that the durability of the monitoring system is improved. The fastener assembly has first parts carried by the rubber ply and second fastener parts built into the module. The first and second fastener parts cooperate to support said module from said rubber ply. The first part may be in the form of a shaft or stem having an axial length which allows the module to be retained at an offset distance from the ply and tire.
