    Abstract: An bushing for securing machine elements. the two-piece bushing includes a body member having a central bore for receiving a shaft or the like and a flange which is rotatable with respect to the bore. The flange includes a plurality of bores for receiving securing means for securing the bushing to a hub or the like and a ridge portion for engaging at least a portion of the body member such that, when the securing means are tightened, the bushing and hub are drawn together. In the preferred embodiment, the outer surface of the end of the body member and the inner surface of the flange have complementary grooves therein for receiving a plurality of steel balls. When the balls are inserted within the groove, a ridge is formed which locks the flange and body member together in the axial direction. In addition, the bushing may include a ridge portion between the body member and the flange for preventing axial movement in at least one direction.
