  • Patent number: 6631810
Abstract: The arrangement is for washing and dewatering a fiber pulp suspension. The arrangement comprises two hollow, circular-cylindrical screen members that have evacuation chambers arranged inside the screen members for leading off liquid. The screen members rotate counter to each other to form a nip. At least one of the screen members is arranged in a trough that partially encloses the jacket of the screen member and, in the direction of rotation of the screen member, converges towards the jacket of the screen member. A sealing arrangement for a pulp head box distributes the pulp onto the jacket surface of the screen members. By forming a progressively decreasing gap B-A at the pulp head box counter to the rotation of the screen member, a simple self-sealing of the pulp suspension can be obtained which allows fiber residues to be returned to the dewatering zone.

  • Patent number: 6618894
Abstract: The invention relates to a scraping tool for removal of a coating on a surface. The tool has a plate with a first scraping edge that is a straight outer edge of the plate. The plate has an inner part with a slit defined therein to form a tongue-like element. The element has a straight edge and is bendable when in use. The edge is a second scraping edge that may bear against the surface substantially parallel to the first scraping edge for simultaneous scraping of the surface. This provides a more powerful scraping effect.

  • Patent number: 6616800
Abstract: A needle is inserted through the glue between a windshield and a frame surrounding the windshield. Two ends of string are inserted from an outside of the windshield to an inside thereof. One end is attached to a first hand tool so that the string forms an acute angle with the bottom end of the windshield. The end is pulled until the string cut through the windshield adhesive and moves along the edge of the windshield and forms a right angle with the edge of the windshield. The other end is attached to a second hand tool and pulled until the other end also forms a right angle. The hand tools are then moved so that the string again forms acute angles. The string is pulled until the string has been pulled along the entire circumference of the windshield and the windshield may be removed.

  • Patent number: 6612049
Abstract: The preheater and dryer device has a housing and a first collector is disposed inside the housing. A feeding device extends into the housing and contains a material to be dried and preheated. A movable and hollow central conduit extends from the upper end of the housing to a bottom portion of the first collector. The central conduit carries a hot and dry air into the housing. A first and a second conical shield are attached to the central conduit. The central conduit is movable between a first open position and a second closed position. The second conical shield is tightly held against the first collector to close the bottom opening thereof when the central conduit is in the second closed position and the second conical shield is separated from the first collector when the central conduit is in the first open position.

  • Patent number: 6605180
Abstract: Fiber material and cooking liquor are introduced at the top of the digester and pulp is discharged from the bottom of the digester, via a line in which the pulp is maintained at substantially the same pressure level, to a pressurized wash. More than 50% of the used cooking liquor (black liquor) which is extracted from the system in total is extracted from the wash filtrate of the pressurized wash. At the same time a small portion of the wash filtrate is also to be recirculated to the bottom of the digester as dilution liquid. The pressurized wash is regulated so that a high temperature is maintained in the wash filtrate. The extraction is regulated so that a net co-current flow is established at the bottom of the digester.

  • Patent number: 6589287
Abstract: The artificial sensibility device has a left sensor applied to a left finger, a middle sensor applied to a middle finger and a right sensor applied to a right finger of a hand. The sensors are connected to an amplifier unit that is connected to a headphone unit with a left speaker and a right speaker. The left finger is moved against a surface to activate the left sensor to send a first activation signal to the amplifier unit that sends a first sound signal only to the left speaker but nothing to the right speaker so the user knows the left finger is moved. The right finger is moved against the surface so that the right sensor sends a second sound signal only to the right speaker but nothing to the left speaker.

  • Patent number: 6544101
Abstract: The brassiere has a bendable support member disposed therein and a stiffer shock-absorbing resilient member attached to the support member and the brassiere. A woman's breast bends the support member outwardly along the bendable line to a first position and the shock-absorbing resilient member is extended from a rest position to a first extended position and a lower end of the brassiere is pressed against the body. The breast then applies a load on the support member and to bend the support member further outwardly from the first position to a second position and the resilient member is extended from the first extended position to a second extended position. The member and the support member provide a pulling force that is greater than the load of the breast an d the support member is then bent inwardly past the first position and the resilient member is retracted.

  • Patent number: 6542581
Abstract: The method is for controlling the transmission power for a session in a system when transmitting data via a telephone line by using a digital subscriber line between a user terminal and a central unit. The transmission power is increased or decreased between given limit values so that the transmission power is kept as low as possible while still providing a sufficient transmission quality. The transmission quality, and therefore the transmission power, is controlled by the value of the signal-to-noise ratio and the number of bit errors BER within a given time interval.

  • Patent number: 6531878
Abstract: The receiver has a casing member and a tip is removably attached to the casing member. A transmitter is connected to a battery and the transmitter produces a transmitter signal by periodically connecting a resistance to the battery. Preferably, the transmitter signal has a frequency of about 20 kHz. A sensor may be placed adjacent to, but not in contact with, an electrically conductive member to take advantage of the air capacitance. An electrical field is created between the sensor and the electrically conductive member. Due to the periodical load on the battery, the sensor may sense the transmitter, signal in the DC carrying conductive member. The transmitter signal is passed through an integrated circuit to filter out all frequencies except the desired 20 kHz and a detection signal is sent to the indicator to activate the indicator.

  • Patent number: 6526308
Abstract: A method for calibration and/or quality assurance of nuclear medicine imaging, in which functional information of the organs to be studied is achieved by inserting radioactive solution emitting detectable radiation in the organs of a phantom simulating the organs to be studied and by detecting the radiation. The filling and emptying of the organs of the phantom to be studied is simulated by regulation of the detectable radiation from the phantom. The organs to be simulated by the phantom are in form of containers filled with radioactive solution, the apparatus further comprising movable isolating parts, like steel plates, between the containers and the gamma camera to isolate radiation from the containers to the camera. The invention is also concerned with an arrangement comprising the apparatus of the invention and a gamma camera.
