  • Patent number: 5618762
Abstract: An antibacterial ceramic contains an antibacterial material produced by loading an antibacterial metal such as silver on a calcium ceramic carrier and an inorganic material such as cordierite, and has a bulk density of 0.6-1.2 g/cm.sup.3. An antibacterial ceramic filter contains an antibacterial material produced by loading an antibacterial metal such as silver on a calcium ceramic carrier, an aggregate such as mullite, and a binder such as frit, and has a porosity of 20% or more. The light-weight antibacterial ceramic is suitably applicable to a roof garden or the like. The antibacterial ceramic filter can remove and extirpate various bacteria and suspensions.

  • Patent number: 5611259
Abstract: The hydraulic circuit directional control valve 20 is provided in a line connected with a lower chamber 13 of the hydraulic cylinder 1 and the B-port of the servo valve 3. A check valve 22 permitting oil flowing into the P-port of the servo valve 3 from the lower chamber 13 is provided in the line in parallel with the hydraulic circuit directional control valve 20 and connected with the lower chamber 13 and the P-port of the servo valve 3. When making the ram 15 move downward with high speed, the hydraulic differential circuit is constituted by changing the hydraulic circuit directional control valve 20 such that the delivery oil exhausted from the lower chamber 13 returns to the P-port of the servo valve 3. The hydraulic oil supplied from the hydraulic pump 1 flows into the upper chamber 12 through the servo valve 3. The delivery oil exhausted from the lower chamber 13 returns to the suction side of the P-port of the servo valve 3 through the check valve 22, assisting the flow rate of the hydraulic pump 2.

  • Patent number: 5612069
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a long size non-ceramic insulator is provided. The method includes the first step, in which a rubber housing having a plurality of trunks and skirts is formed around a long size core while molds are tightly assembled, and 1 second, in which the long size core is moved a length corresponding to the rubber housing while the molds are separated. Further according to a third step, the long size core is set in a position in the molds as the distal portion of the formed rubber housing is clamped by positioning jigs disposed in the molds while the molds are tightly assembled. While the rubber housing is clamped, the next continuous rubber housing is formed around the long size core, which will be connected to the last formed rubber housing.

  • Patent number: 5611877
Abstract: Jigs usable in a method for manufacturing a joined ceramic structure having a plurality of tubes and perforated plates joined to both the end portions of these tubes which has the steps of inserting the tubes of sintered ceramics into through-holes of the perforated plates of unsintered ceramics having a plurality of the through-holes, thereby integrally joining both the members by the utilization of a difference between firing shrinkage ratios of both the members; the jigs having end portions which are inserted into jig fixation orifices beforehand formed through the perforated plates and which have an outer diameter slightly smaller than a diameter of the orifices, and stems having an outer diameter larger than the diameter of the jig fixation orifices, the end portions and the stems being constituted so as to be detachably combined at engagement portions where they are engaged with each other without mutual restriction, the jigs being integrally combined with the joined ceramic structure after the completi

  • Patent number: 5612012
Abstract: A method for removing CO from a reformed gas includes the steps of treating the reformed gas by a hydrogen purifier to decrease a ratio of the concentration of components other than hydrogen to the concentration of hydrogen so that the ratio may be lower than in the reformed gas, and then converting CO contained in the gas treated by the hydrogen purifier into a gas other than CO. CO can be removed from the reformed gas, and simultaneously high-purity hydrogen can also be obtained, which leads to the increase of a fuel efficiency and the inhibition effect of performance deterioration.

  • Patent number: 5610572
Abstract: A resistor element has a ceramic substrate and a metallic resistor coated onto the substrate. The metallic resistor has varied electrical resistance depending on temperature. A pair of leads are electrically connected to the metallic resistor. A plurality of glass layers having different compositions are coated onto the metallic resistor. The second glass layer fills a hole formed in the first glass layer, thereby improving response of the resistor element. The second glass layer has a softening point lower than the first glass layer, thereby small bubbles remain dispersed in each glass layer without aggregation. An outermost glass layer is composed of a glass resisting chemicals or a glass resisting abrasion. An innermost glass layer is composed of a glass containing up to 3 percent by mole of a sum of Na.sub.2 O and K.sub.2 O.

  • Patent number: 5558637
Abstract: An implant injection device for once-only use includes an elongated implant housing (10), a cannula (11) and a plunger (20) which is longitudinally movable in the implant housing. The surface (21) of the plunger and the inner wall (15) of the implant housing are equipped with interacting projections (22, 12) which permit the plunger to move inwards into the implant housing but which prevent the removal of the plunger from the implant housing.
