Abstract: A color-coded method and apparatus of learning to type is disclosed having three sets of flash cards which teach the location of keyboard symbols and the appropriate finger to employ a given symbol by the use of a predetermined sector-color-coded keyboard. The invention also includes adhesive backed colored appliques matching the sector-color-coding which can be removably applied to the fingers or another support to provide a means for initial learning of the method prior to practicing the method. Finally, the keyboard is covered with the color appliques according to the predetermined sector color code and a look-away image of the predetermined sector-color-coded keyboard is provided to prevent the user from looking at the keyboard while typing. This system can also be applied to other multiple finger actuated input devices.

The water filter has a horizontal housing defining a fluid inlet chamber and fluid filtration chamber containing a changeable filter cartridge, an inlet end cap which is configured to conduct an incoming fluid flow from the fluid inlet chamber to the fluid filtration chamber, and an outlet end cap configured to receive a filtered fluid flow from the fluid filtration chamber to a fluid outlet spigot. At least one end cap is removable to facilitate changing the filter cartridge.

Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus used to replace an axle housing for a light duty truck. The device consists of a frame which includes supports to hold axle housing tube assemblies and a differential mechanism housing. The apparatus includes a push rod attached to a hydraulic or mechanical press or ram. A collar is attached to the push rod. The push rod extends through the first axle tube assembly and the differential housing and the collar is placed against the circumference of the second axle tube assembly. In operation the ram is activated and the second axle tube assembly is forced apart from the differential housing so that a replacement axle tube assembly can be attached to the differential housing.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are presented in which a generally vertical force is applied to a person's lower spine in approximately a perpendicular direction to the axis of elongation of the spine. In particular, the person is placed on his back in a substantially supine position. A restraining belt is then placed about the person's pelvic area and a lifting force is applied in an upward direction. The person can then apply pressure to one of various footrests to adjust the amount and direction of the force applied to the spine for maximum relief from lower back discomfort. The method and apparatus may also be used to adjust other body areas, such as the shoulders or neck, by applying the belt to the pertinent body area.

Abstract: A preparative scale multi-mode electrical separator, which is matrix-free and may be operated in both a batch mode and a continuous, flow-through mode is provided. It may be scaled according to the solution quantities which are to be processed. An internal cooling system whereby the process fluid is always in close proximity to a chilled surface assures an efficient heat dissipation during the separation and concentration processes and also allows the use of higher voltage gradients and shorter separation times than prior designs of electrophoretic separators. Electroosmotic mixing is reduced by providing internal, compartmentation of sample fractions, focusing is improved and focusing times are decreased. Different electrophoretic methods, including zone electrophoresis, isoelectric focusing, counterflow gradient focusing or electrodialysis, may be used with the separator. It may be applied to the purification of proteins, ions, and microorganisms, and for water purification.
