  • Patent number: 5566407
Abstract: An infant's crib for newborn infants and infants beyond in age is made, whereby the infant will always have available breathing air, providing the infant with ample oxygen, and preventing the buildup of carbon dioxide exhausted by the infant, as this carbon dioxide is carried away by air circulating under the infant's crib. The infant is supported on permeable materials which in turn are supported on a crib frame. The permeable materials are positioned at a spaced distance over a supporting structure upon which portions of the crib frame are positioned. Preferably, two layers of permeable materials are used. The bottom permeable layer is strong enough to support the infant and has many openings per square inch. The top permeable layer, lying on the bottom permeable layer, is used to improve the comfort of the infant, and there are fewer openings per square inch. Both the top and bottom permeable layers are readily removed for cleaning.

  • Patent number: 5513837
Abstract: The portable clamp is used, for example, in making repairs to a product, such as a snowboard. The repair volume location of the snowboard is reworked to prepare this repair volume, i.e. a damaged portion of the product, to receive repairing materials. After their placement, a pressure distribution plate of this portable clamp is positioned over, and generally beyond, the repair volume location. Then a bottom clamp bar and a top clamp bar are positioned, respectively, under and over the snowboard. These clamp bars are thereafter drawn together by using the preliminary clamping fastener assemblies located at their respective ends. Then final clamping fastener assemblies, threadably positioned in the top clamp bar, in the central portion thereof, are tightened to continue the distribution of clamping forces to the pressure distribution plate.

  • Patent number: 5501600
Abstract: The present invention provides a method wherein a noble metal foil matrix, which conforms to the front tooth die of a patient, and a porcelain ceramic slurry, which will be applied to the metal matrix, are quickly and accurately obtained. The improved method of providing the porcelain ceramic slurry involves leaving a central area of the noble metal foil matrix uncovered during a first firing period to obtain the first layer of porcelain veneer. Leaving this initial area uncovered compensates for the shrinkage of the porcelain during the first firing period.

  • Patent number: 5448867
Abstract: Principal members of structures are manufactured as foldable assemblies of like size and shape structural members, foldable for handling, packaging, shipping, and storage, and unfolded into their respective principal member configurations. Each like size and shape structural member has its opposite end surfaces formed on a sixty degree bias, whereby one longitudinal edge surface is longer than the other opposite edge surface, thereby creating opposite trapezoidal side surfaces. Each of these members has two spaced holes formed along its centerline, and each of these holes is equally spaced from a respective bias end. Regarding relative design dimensions, the respective longitudinal centerline length of each like size and shaped structural member is given the formula dimension, L, then the space between holes, X, is equal to 0.464 L, and the space from each hole to the centerline end, Y, is equal to 0.268 L.

  • Patent number: 5441360
Abstract: Asphaltic concrete compounds comprised of asphalt cement and aggregate have, as a substantial portion of their respective aggregates, anthracite coal particles and fines, which are added specially as a lossy microwave material. These asphaltic concrete compounds are particularly useful when laid clown as a pavement, or a top layer of a pavement, which thereafter can be freed of ice, by using microwave energy to debond the ice. The debonding of the ice occurs without causing any noticeable melting of the ice, and the debonded ice is thereafter easily lifted and removed from the pavement of the way, serving as a roadway, highway, runway, or walkway. Also these asphaltic concrete compounds are particularly useful as patching materials when damaged pavement is being repaired, especially during cold weather.

  • Patent number: 5335946
Abstract: A cooperating combination of a metallic gland and a metallic grip ring is for both plastic pipe and metallic pipe used in fluid piping systems, where these pipes are part of assembled restrained sealed bolted joints. The grip ring, in addition to two well spaced major sized teeth, has several spaced minor sized pipe gripping circumferential teeth located between and beyond the major sized teeth. The major sized teeth extend radially inwardly farther than the minor sized teeth within the grip ring. When the installed grip ring is restraining a metallic pipe, only the major size teeth are, in part, penetrating the metallic pipe. When this installed grip ring is restraining a plastic pipe both the major size teeth and the minor size teeth are penetrating the plastic pipe. The major size teeth take a lot of concentrated force, which is created when the fasteners of the bolted joint are tightened.
