Abstract: A collector of a blood sample from a body member comprising a hollow container which is closed at both ends and has a hypodermic needle projecting from one of the ends and extending into the interior of the container. An arcuate disc of a frangible, inert material is sealingly positioned within the container to divide it into two compartments, one containing a blood culturing medium, the other air. An elongated tube engages the interior end of the needle and passes through the disc into the air chamber. When the wall of the container is deflected inwardly to expel the air to create a negative pressure condition within the container, the disc is broken thus allowing the blood drawn into the container when the wall is released to mix with the medium.
Abstract: A marginal floor brush spacedly surrounding the rim of a chambered sanding machine base. The brush meets the floor and confines wood dust developed by a rotary sanding unit in the base. The dust is drawn from under the brush by a vacuum unit in the machine. This is facilitated by disposing the brush floatingly free of the machine to stir up and separate the dust particles and leave the floor clear of dust as the machine moves on.
Abstract: A plier-type tool for producing guide-line clips -- known as trigs -- as needed on bricklaying jobs. The tool receives the trig-material strip from the side, and its jaws are formed to properly set the leading portion of the strip in the tool, to indent such portion to fluted form on the closing of the jaws, and to accurately guide the remaining strip portion for bending it together with the leading portion.
Abstract: A display stand containing a horizontally-rotatable group of pockets carried by a vertical spindle, the pockets open at the top. A plastic sheet covers the pockets to keep out falling dust, and is perforated for the passage of the spindle. When the stand is tilted to position the spindle horizontally, the sheet assumes the position of a side closure for the pockets, preventing their contents from moving out of the pockets.
