  • Patent number: 5473861
Abstract: The present invention relates to a packing method and an apparatus, wherein a substance to be packed is carried from a carrying-in section in which the substance is carried to a position under a packing section where a film stands by in a horizontally stretched state. The substance to be packed is lifted to the film and is covered on the upper surface with the film, and the end portions of the film are folded under the bottom portion of the substance to be packed. The packing method and packing apparatus are for a no-tray system for directly packing a substance to be packed without a tray.

  • Patent number: 5373437
Abstract: A device in which an offset is added to a focusing error signal to control an objective lens and thereby reduce the generation of cross-talk when a beam spot that is converged on an optical disk crosses over a wall of a groove of a track of the disk. By adding the offset to the focusing error signal, the objective lens is moved out of focus with the disk. Thus, the shape of a beam spot formed on a photo sensor is changed from a circle to an ellipse. A condenser lens provided for forming the beam spot is moved along the optical axis thereof in such a manner that an output of a recorded signal of the disk is at a maximum value. As a result, the objective lens is brought into focus on the disk. Thereafter, the objective lens is focused on the disk in accordance with the focusing error signal to which the offset is added, while maintaining the beam spot in the shape of an ellipse.

  • Patent number: 5146958
Abstract: Method and apparatus for pasting a porous structure, such as a battery support plate, which provides for inserting pasty material from a vibrating hopper continuously and evenly as a sandwich filling of controlled thickness between two conveyer strips driven at the same speed to deliver pasty material with a predefined thickness and with a flat translational motion onto a substantially horizontal platen; removing the conveyor strip opposite that in contact with the platen to uncover the upper face of the pasty material; bringing the porous structure level with the platen onto the upper surface of the pasty material; pressing the pasty material into the porous structure; and removing the pasted porous structure from the lower strip. The porous structure can be simultaneously pasted on its upper side using a secondary conveyer strip.

  • Patent number: 5033844
Abstract: A camera employing an automatic focusing unit for detecting an optical image through a photographic lens and for outputting an image signal. The automatic focusing unit has a window for introducing the optical image thereinto and comprises a mounting member on which the automatic focusing unit is mounted. The mounting member has a hole for allowing the optical image to pass therethrough and a pair of nested mounting cylindrical members acting as a guide are provided between the mounting member and the automatic focusing unit and surrounding the optical path therebetween for guiding the automatic focusing unit in the direction toward and away from the mounting member. A biasing member, such as coil spring is provided on the outer periphery of the cylindrical members for biasing the automatic focusing unit in the direction away from the mounting member.
