  • Patent number: 5970648
Abstract: A flasher designed for use with a trolling assembly. The flasher is fashioned from a triangular blank having a base slightly longer than the two equal legs. The leg portions are bent to form wings, one upward and the other downward along non-parallel fold lines defining a central portion and running from a point on each leg near the apex of the triangle to points on the base. The fold lines form equal acute angles with a line between the points on each leg. The angles of the fold lines determine the speed of rotation of the flasher about its central axis. The upper and lower surfaces of the two wings and central portion provide six surfaces to which are affixed reflective tape panels. The flasher is connected to the fishing line through a swivel attached at an opening at the apex. One, two or three leaders can be attached at openings at the ends and center along the base. A hook with appropriate lure or bait is at the end of each leader.

  • Patent number: 5921899
Abstract: An exercise apparatus that a user can utilize when alone and which imitates the motion of a trampoline and can also imitate the motion of jumping rope while providing secure support to the user. A horizontal platform is supported on a base that has pivotally connected crossed arms that permit the platform to smoothly move up and down. The resistance is provided by a pneumatic spring assembly located beneath the platform. Compressed air supplied by a simple tire pump and a relief valve enable the user to increase or reduce the pressure of the system, thus controlling the bounce frequency and degree of resistance. A pressure set-up table assists the user in setting the pressure at the proper level for his or her needs and an ergometer accurately determines energy output. A handlebar assembly attached to the platform provides good support and can be vertically adjusted to accommodate the particular support needs of the user.

  • Patent number: 5649221
Abstract: A method for the retrieval from an electronic dictionary of a word which is known or believed to exist but can not be brought to mind or a word that is thought may exist, to replace a pedestrian word or phrase. A complete thesaurus and dictionary are needed to establish numeric codes. The numeric codes designate synonym groups and are assigned to thesaurus entries and are thereafter transferred to corresponding dictionary entries and their definition words. The synonym groups can be expanded to include related words and words that are not technically synonyms. Words having no synonyms are assigned unique numeric codes or can be included within the synonym groups of one or more related words. The user enters one or more search words which are thought may exist in the definition of the word sought. After locating the numeric code(s) for the search word(s) the dictionary is searched for words having those numeric code(s) within their definitions.

  • Patent number: 5609007
Abstract: An integrated system of components to completely reface a conventional suspended ceiling. The components are manufactured in discrete sizes and shapes to cover the grids and all grid intersections so that all installed components lie contiguously in the same plane to maintain the original appearance of the ceiling but with a fresh face. The components are designed to be snapped onto the grids using minimal upward force so as not to cause distortion or misalignment of the suspended grids. The installation can be accomplished expeditiously. The only cutting necessary is to adjust the components at the peripheral areas where the precut pieces will not fit the spaces remaining. Very little skill or special tools are required. Complementary panel cover sheets are provided to complete the refacing. The system can be constructed in a variety of colors and textures to blend with or enhance many different styles and modes of decoration. • Patent number: 5300022
Abstract: An improvement over the Foley catheter which provides, in addition to the main drainage lumen, a central smaller lumen for continuous delivery of a small quantity of sterile irrigating solution directly through the distal tip into the bladder. A larger portion of the irrigating solution is deflected by the cone shaped roof of the distal tip and turned backward past the drainage ports and into the drainage lumen. This backward flow of liquid causes a mild suction which assists the removal of clots and tissue debris from the bladder. The continuous flow of sterile solution also cleanses the drainage lumen and prevents the upward movement of bacteria common in most urinary catheters. A suction syringe can also be used in the usual manner in the event of a blockage. A second embodiment of the invention provides two protuberances across from the drainage ports within the distal tip to assist in breaking up clots as they enter the drainage lumen.
