  • Patent number: 8274023
Abstract: The present invention is directed to missile training systems, especially to those relating to the provision of a mechanism that allows missiles and similar devices to be fired at a target in a realistic, but safe, manner. The use of live fire exercises, in which army or other armed forces personnel use fully functioning weapons systems is well established. Live fire exercises can be used to provide realistic training scenarios, but also present obvious dangers. The present invention provides a module for attachment to an object (such as a missile), the object being adapted to be directed towards a target (such as a ship), the module comprising a control system providing an output signal indicative of whether or not said object is to be destroyed.

  • Patent number: 8271284
Abstract: Even when a pitch cycle has a large fluctuation and the pitch cycle string changes abruptly, it possible to suppress the affect of the pitch cycle fluctuation and generate high-quality synthesized speech. A speech synthesis device generates a synthesized speech corresponding to an input text sentence according to an original speech waveform stored in original speech waveform information storage unit (25). The speech synthesis device includes pitch cycle correction unit (40) which extracts a fluctuation component of the pitch cycle of the original speech waveform which is obtained from original speech waveform information storage unit (25) in order to generate the synthesized speech and which corrects, based on the extracted fluctuation component, the pitch cycle of the synthesized speech obtained by analyzing the input text sentence. Pitch cycle correction unit (40) connects the pitch cycle waveform of the original speech waveform at the pitch cycle of the corrected synthesized speech.

  • Patent number: 8267496
Abstract: In case resolution is set to 360 dpi, each dot is formed on each printing line provided orthogonally to conveying direction at intervals obtained by dividing an inch on a surface tape by 360 lines. Contrarily, in case resolution is set to 180 dpi, each dot array is formed to occupy two printing lines. In case a control unit judges that the number of dot-array-formed printing lines from start of printing till temporary stop of printing with 180 dpi is not equal to that of dot-array-formed printing lines with 360 dpi, a portion of serial arrays of dots to be formed from start of printing till temporary stop of printing with 180 dpi is formed with 360 dpi so that the number of dot-array-formed printing lines from start of printing till temporary stop of printing is made equal to that of dot-array-formed printing lines in printing with 360 dpi.
