Abstract: One form of conventional shipping unit includes a plurality of forms interconnected at their ends by tabs for bearing information concerning, inter alia, the shipper and consignee. Most of the forms are carried by a sleeve or envelope, which has an adhesive backing for connecting the envelope to a package to be shipped. When a plurality of packages are to be shipped in a single shipment, it is necessary to prepare a plurality of forms, to provide a separate sheet of labels bearing the same information, e.g. bar codes or numerals, or to label each of the packages with a pen, marker or stamp. It has been found that part of the removable cover for the rear or bottom adhesive bearing surface of the envelope can be used for labelling purposes, i.e. can provide labels bearing the same identifying indicia for a plurality of packages being shipped with a single set of forms.
Abstract: A system for preventing salvage fusing of nuclear warhead attack weapons including an interceptor weapon having detecting means operably associated therewith for detecting an attack weapon at a predetermined distance. A disarming mechanism operably associated with the interceptor weapon for preventing detonation of the nuclear warhead. The interceptor weapon includes an explosive device for destroying the interceptor weapon during a period when the nuclear warhead is disarmed and hurling numerous particles at the attack weapon. Upon impact, the particles destroy the attack weapon thereby preventing it from ever reaching its full explosive potential.
Abstract: An electromagnetically operated rotary servovalve particularly suitable for controlling hydraulic actuators, for example forming part of vehicle suspensions is described; the servovalve comprises a valve body provided with at least one series of respective radial ducts disposed angularly spaced apart, a rotary distributor of cock type which depending on its angular position either blocks said radial ducts or selectively connects them together in pairs, a pair of linear electromagnetic actuators, and transmission means mechanically connecting said electromagnetic actuators to said rotary distributor and arranged to convert with a predetermined step-up ratio the linear motion of said actuators into rotary motion of said distributor.
Abstract: A wrench for use in the erecting of tent poles, characterized in that a tent pole of considerable height may be erected by several persons applying pressure to the individual lever arms of the wrench to thereby position the tent pole erectly. The wrench is designed for use with tent poles having a hole therethrough. The wrench has a complementary projection extending from one of its lever arms for insertion into the complimentary hole of the tent pole.
Abstract: The present invention discloses an apparatus for cutting grass or vegetation and the like, which includes a rotary cutting member. The rotary cutting member includes a hub and a plurality of arms extending therefrom. Each arm includes a line holder for receiving a flexible cutting filament. The flexible cutting filament includes first and second cutting elements, and is positioned such that first element is positioned above and laterally offset from the second element. Each arm is shaped so as to form an air-foil. The air-foil creates a low pressure area above the blade which facilitates lifting the grass upward in the direction of the lawnmower blade.
Abstract: A power trimmer including a handle, a housing, a gas operated engine, a plurality of wheels, and a cutting blade. The housing includes a front wheel mounting member, a rear wheel mounting member, and a cutting blade mounting member. The cutting blade mounting member is offset from the front and rear wheel mounting members. A passageway extends along the upper surface of the cutting blade mounting member. The first end of the passageway is positioned adjacent the exhaust port of the gas operated engine. The second end abuts the rear wheel mounting member. The passageway directs the exhaust fumes from the gas operated engine underneath the housing thereby significantly reducing the noise of the invention. Further, harmful exhaust fumes are directed away from the operator. The cutting blade mounting member includes fixed and removable sections. The removable section can be secured to either side of the fixed section. Thus, an operator can trim from both sides of the power trimmer.

Abstract: A bone screw fixation assembly comprises a longitudinally extending member having an aperture therethrough defining an inner wall with spaced first and second end portions. A first set of threads are formed in the inner wall at the first end portion for receiving a cooperating second set of threads disposed about the exterior of a fixation device. A longitudinally extending fam rod has first and second spaced ends, and the jam rod is receivable in the aperture for permitting the jam rod first end to engage the fixation device when received within the member first end portion. A locking mechanism is operably associated with the member for selectively locking the jam rod in engagement with the received fixation device so that movement of the first set of threads relative to the second set of threads is prevented.
Abstract: A bridge for a stringed instrument has a string supporting portion comprising a composition having a first component and a second component. The first component is a rigid material and the second component is a lubricating material. Preferably the first component is plastic and the second component is polytetrafluoroethylene, graphite or a silicone. The composition may also include a reinforcement comprising aramid, carbon or glass fibers or combinations thereof.
Abstract: A heat treatable sputter-coated glass having on its glass substrate a coating system consisting essentially of a high nickel alloy overcoated with tin oxide and, optionally, under-coated with tin oxide with, or without, a layer of metallic aluminum located between the high nickel alloy layer and the overcoat of tin oxide.
Abstract: A self-photography booth comprises a booth having a first end portion for a person to be photographed and a spaced and aligned opposite second end portion. A camera is operably associated with the second end portion and includes a selectively operable film advance system for advancing a length of film having a plurality of frames through the camera in a sequential manner and a shutter button for selectively exposing a frame of the film with an image of the person. A video camera is operatively associated with the second end portion and with the camera for receiving the image of the person perceived by the camera. A video display is operably associated with the video camera and with the second end portion for displaying the perceived image.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for assembling modular tooled masonry structures, the method coprising the steps of: providing a pre-fabricated wire support structure having a shape generally corresponding to the shape of the completed masonry structure; assembling a first row of bricks in a predetermined pattern onto the support structure using the support structure as a support and spacing guide for the bricks; masking selected areas of the bricks by partially surrounding the bricks with an open top removably mortar molding form; applying a pre-determined quantity of mortar into the mortar molding form covering accessible unmasked areas of the bricks with a pre-determined thickness of mortar; leveling the mortar; allowing the mortar to partially set; removing the mortar molding form from the bricks thereby revealing a tooled row of bricks; and repeating the above steps to provide additional tooled rows of bricks as needed to complete the masonry structure.
Abstract: An apparatus for filing documents including a box-like container. There is a cover for the container which removably closes the top opening thereof. An expandable file folder has a plurality of divisions and is of a size which fully occupies the interior of the container and extends from one end of the container to another end thereof when expanded. There are mutually engagable tabs and slots or the like for releasably connecting the file folder to the ends of the container to maintain the folder in the expanded condition within the container. Preferrably the bottom of the container has four portions formed by extensions of the sides and ends. The ends of the container may be foldable along vertical center lines thereof. In the knocked-down condition the sides are folded inwardly along the center line and the portions of the bottom are folded upwardly and inwardly between the ends and sides of the container. Preferably the folded container and collapsed folder are removably received within the cover.
