Abstract: A cannula sealing apparatus includes a housing having a central axially facing aperture. A surgical instrument of 10.5 mm may seal with that aperture. Alternatively, a sealing member having an aperture that will seal with a 12 mm surgical instrument can be swung up to be aligned with the aperture. If a 10.5 mm instrument is required then a seal member can be swung up to have its seal aperture located over the central aperture. Each seal member is pivotal about a common axis.

Abstract: A brush gate accessory for a faceting machine splash pan including a mounting bracket having an arcuate cross-member interconnecting first and second attachment arms, each of the first and second attachment arms defining a clip about their free for retaining the brush gate in place over a sidewall of a splash pan, and first and second opposing brushes removably attached to the first and second attachment arms, respectively, the brushes together substantially filling a space defined between the arms from the cross-member to the free ends of the arms.

Abstract: A holster for a passenger seat has a rear face and a peripheral wall which defines a pocket for receiving an IFE device. The holster is moveable between stowed and deployed positions. In the deployed position, an IFE device may be positioned in the pocket for convenient viewing. The tilt angle of the holster may also be adjusted. A method of viewing an IFE device is also disclosed.

Abstract: An optical box includes a first part suitable for fastening to an optical fiber distribution cable and a second part having an opening intended for the passage of at least one optical fiber dropped from the distribution cable and at least one optical component positioned in the second part for connecting the dropped optical fiber to at least one optical fiber of a subscriber cable. The second part of the optical box is fastened detachably to the first part of the optical box. The optical box combines the dropping and splicing of optical fibers in a single optical box.

Abstract: A valve handle assembly for a valve having an outwardly extending rotatable stem for opening and closing the valve by rotation of the stem includes a stop plate for engaging the stem, a handle for rotating the stem by engaging and rotating the stop plate, and a cup washer for engaging the handle and retaining the stop plate and handle on the stem upon placing a nut on the stem and tightening of the nut. The handle has an internal lip for retaining the handle and the cup washer has a raised flange for engaging the lip to retain the handle upon tightening of the nut.

Abstract: A passenger seat includes a rigid frame, a seat pan supported by the frame and movable relative to the frame, a leg rest pivotally attached to a forward end of the seat pan, a seat back pivotally attached to a rearward end of the seat pan, and a single actuator linked to the leg rest such that extension of the actuator causes the leg rest to pivot forward, the seat pan to move forward, and the seat back to recline. A method of adjusting the passenger seat includes activating the actuator such that extension of the actuator causes the leg rest to pivot forward, the seat pan to move forward, and the seat back to recline.

Abstract: An air expulsion pump for a prosthetic socket adapted to be worn on a residual limb of an amputee. The pump includes an elastomeric housing which fits snugly in a well defined in the lower end of the socket. The pump is easy to install by simply sliding it into the well. The pump has an upper surface commensurate with the inside surface of the socket in that both surface have the same radius of curvature. The pump includes an elastomeric spring member and two check valves that together with the elastomeric housing exert a continuous vacuum within the prosthetic socket. When donned by the user, the pump provides continuous total contact between the socket and the residual limb of the user as the user ambulates.

Abstract: A crystal growth process comprising providing a reactor having a crucible with an injector apparatus and a seed holder. The injector apparatus has an inner gas conduit and an outer gas conduit wherein an inert gas is introduced into the outer conduit. The injector apparatus has an upper injector and a lower injector and a gap therebetween. The upper injector temperature is maintained at a higher temperature than the lower injector.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a preform for optical fibers by a vapor deposition process wherein an intermediate step is carried out between one deposition phase and the next deposition phase(s), wherein the intermediate step includes supplying an etching gas to the supply side of the hollow substrate tube.

Abstract: A class divider for an aircraft passenger cabin is provided. The class divider includes a partition positioned immediately aft of a rear row of seats in a first predetermined class area of the aircraft cabin and an aft-facing panel having a width and height generally corresponding to a width and height of the rear row of seats. One or more passenger convenience features selected from the group of video monitors, tray tables, and magazine storage pockets are provided on the aft-facing panel for use by passengers seated immediately aft of the partition in a front row of a second predetermined class area of the aircraft cabin.

Abstract: The present application relates to a prosthesis comprising a flexible portion (1) and at least one less flexible portion (2), which flexible portion comprises a fiber-reinforced hydrogel. In addition to that, the application relates to a prosthesis consisting of a fiber-reinforced hydrogel, which prosthesis is intended to replace cartilaginous materials. The application further relates to the use of the prosthesis and to a method for manufacturing the prosthesis. The application furthermore relates to a method of preparing the flexible portion for a prosthesis. Finally, the application relates to a fiber material apparently intended for use in the prosthesis.

Abstract: The invention provides a method of improving an existing pulverizer mill by provision of an improved port ring located around the circumference of a grinding ring of the mill for common rotation therewith. The conventional port ring has openings separated by thin vanes. The improved port ring has wider openings now separated by lands. The wider openings can pass more unground materials back through the port ring as rejected material but the overall air mass flow can be kept unchanged.

Abstract: A gazebo cover adaptable for gazebos having different sized canopies include a fabric panel having a central opening and a perimeter defining at least three adjacent perimeter portions. The fabric panel includes a plurality of centrally-converging gussets extending between the perimeter and the central opening. A closure, for example, a slide zipper, is provided for selectively opening the gussets to form a relatively large canopy sized to fit a predetermined large size canopy frame, and for selectively closing the gussets to form a relatively small canopy sized to fit a predetermined small size canopy frame. A peak cap is positioned over and attached to the central opening of the fabric panel for closing the central opening.
