Abstract: An image capture system having an image capture module and a terminal unit captures both photo images and coded images. An alterable optical path of the system operates in a first configuration when capturing coded images and in a second configuration when capturing photo images. Captured images are presented on a display as they are captured. A user of the system may parse through captured images to select one or more of the captured images for permanent storage and/or transmission to a remote location. The system operates to identify coded targets within captured images, to prompt the user to select one or more of the identified coded targets and to decode the selected coded targets. The image capture system may direct a user to reposition the system so that a decodable coded image will be captured. The image capture system communicates over wireless and wired networks with remote computer systems, personnel, and mobile units.

Parameter details of at least one virtual machine are concurrently displayed with the overview component. The method steps include receiving the compiled source code for two applications, creating two relocatable virtual machines to run the compiled source codes, determining the parameters for the multiple virtual machine environment, locating the two relocatable virtual machines and generating a target executable file for the environment.

The system includes an event-generating software component that can generate an event notification in response to an event. It also includes a listener software component that can receive an event notification. Further, it includes an event transmission object that can facilitate transmission of an event notification from an event-generating software component to a listener software component. The event transmission object passes a primitive data type parameter that conveys data describing an event generated by said event-generating software component to a listener software component.

Abstract: A hand-held data terminal employs a projection display, thus eliminating the need for a flat screen display conventionally employed in hand-held data terminals. The projection display according to the present invention comprises a light source, a spatial light modulator for varying the light emitted by the light source to produce an optical image that corresponds to visual output of the data terminal, and a lens to project the resulting image. In this manner, the computer output that would normally be visualized using a display such as an LCD display may be viewed as a projected image on a nearby surface, thus allowing the data terminal to be made smaller while providing a robust visual user interface.
