  • Patent number: 7984592
Abstract: A self-cleaning grain bin roof configured to allow ventilation through the roof ribs which has a trapezoidal shaped inner rib with ventilation orifices therein and a spaced apart and partially covering outer rib configured to inhibit precipitation from falling through the orifices while permitting air to be blown from inside the grain bin outside. The trapezoidal shape providing for a self-cleaning ability in that if matter is blown to the orifices by positive pressure in the grain bin, it will, in the event of a loss of pressure, either fall outside of the orifices and slide down one of the slanted trapezoidal sides, or return to the grain bin. If debris blown by wind gathers on the roof, it will be blown out from under the outer rib by the airflow through the orifices.

  • Patent number: 7975824
Abstract: A system and method for changing a flow direction of dry bulk material which comprises constructing a steel clad ceramic elbow or pipe or planar flip gate and placing the same in a location where a flow direction change is desired and where abrasion will occur. The inside of the pipe has a steel surface, as does the exterior of the pipe. The ceramic material is disposed in the gap between the steel exterior and interior. The interior steel pipe wears away in portions but the remaining non-worn away portion still provides valuable support for the uncovered ceramic portions.

  • Patent number: 7887259
Abstract: The present invention uses one or more sediment survey techniques to map the sediment of a water course in three dimensions. The sediment survey techniques result in sediment definition that may be used to identify zones of sediment (whether areas or volumes) that are likely to contain contaminants. This may be based on the identity of the sediment, the location of the sediment in the water course, the depth of the sediment and/or the thickness of the sediment layer. In one embodiment, the sediment survey techniques, and the resulting sediment definition, may be used in combination with geomorphology techniques to calculate an adjusted contaminant concentration for sediment zones. Based on the adjusted contaminant concentrations for a site, selective sediment removal may be used to achieve the most effective removal of contaminant with the least of sediment removal or sediment testing.

  • Patent number: 7862371
Abstract: A system to facilitate installation of a small fan into a ceiling light fixture. A male electrical plug with electrical wire is installed upon the top of a rigid structure. An electrical adapter is inserted into the light fixture's socket in lieu of a light bulb. The conductive prongs of the plug are inserted into a receptacle of the adapter. A leverage arm is created at the bottom of the rigid structure and extends opposite and beyond the vertical centerline of the apparatus to a position where a higher percentage of the weight of the combined appliance and fan is distributed to the side of the centerline opposite the plug putting downward pressure on the outer end of the leverage arm configuration which, in turn, causes the top portion of the apparatus to rotate toward the centerline and to push the prongs inward.

  • Patent number: 7841082
Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus that includes a chamber rotor with a chamber and an extension rotor with an extension. The rotors are housed in a rotor case. A pressure cavity is at least transiently formed by the extension rotor and the chamber rotor. The present invention also includes a compressor that includes a chamber rotor with a chamber and an extension rotor with an extension where the extension is adapted to be received in the chamber when the rotors are synchronously rotated. The compressor also includes a power input shaft attached to the extension rotor and a gear assembly attached to the rotors that is adapted to insure the synchronous rotation of the rotors. A rotor case houses the rotors and has an intake port and an exhaust port. The present invention also includes an engine that is similar to the compressor and includes a spark plug. Methods of compressing, pumping and generating electricity and mechanical power are also part of the present invention.
