  • Patent number: 6491265
Abstract: Invention provides a self latching, object-holding fixture designed to release a held object whenever the object is turned slightly in either direction. Fixture has a shaped housing and the object to be held has a mated opening of a similar matching shape. Placing an object to be held locks the object to the fixture by spring-loaded latching action. The fixture housing covers a fixed spring holding base that is anchored by any suitable means to a support surface. Covering that fixed-position base, except for exposed spring-loaded keeper latches, is a rotatable casing having a pair of spring compression cam surfaces carried by the casing. Using a cam follower action, these cam surfaces selectively cause the spring to collapse in response to the rotation of the casing holding in either direction of casing rotation. As the object/casing is turned slightly, this cam follower/spring collapse action releasably disengages the keepers from the object being held.

  • Patent number: 6353969
Abstract: An articulating strut capable of assuming an extended in-line and a folded configuration with rigid cylindrical tubing having proximate ends configured to fixably receive an offset hinged insert that provides for folding and unfolding of said strut. When fully unfolded the strut acts as a single rigid structural support member held in the locked position by a bi-directional slidable locking sleeve. The hinged insert has full faced load bearing surfaces which together with offset hinge pins tends to direct the strut members under compression to assume an over-center locked position. Such struts have particular application as bimini or dodger marine coverings that fold or become taut without tensioning straps or supporting tension in the covering material itself.

  • Patent number: 6315911
Abstract: A swimming pool debris deflector apparatus having a floating deflector arm and two adjustable orthogonal members which provide a mating to existing swimming pool skimmer entrance ports. A pair of anchor points including a finger hole in a skimmer basket cover and a resting point against the side of the pool stabilize the deflector adjacent the skimmer entrance port. The deflector includes adjustments for positioning the debris deflection for clockwise or counter clockwise pool flow caused by the pool filtration system.

  • Patent number: 6082793
Abstract: An attachable/detachable swivel hook and yoke for lifting a vertically oriented riser pipe section into place such that the lifted pipe section may be threadably joined to another upright riser section. The hook is swivel mounted to a yoke bracket and a threaded collar is adapted to threadably fit on the threads of a riser pipe to be lifted. The collar is held on the lifted riser pipe so that it may swivel on hook and be threaded to said upright riser pipe section.

  • Patent number: 6036446
Abstract: A portable system of inter-connected smaller and larger canisters for near simultaneous vacuum and liquid transfer free from any external power. Captured vacuum in the canisters is employed for waste liquid extraction and a subsequent pressure transfer may take place without any liquid being exposed to the atmosphere. A mechanical manifold is adapted to receive the canisters, and one or more canisters may be physically connected to the manifold and are left in place as a user drives to another site location. An intermediate canister in the system is fitted with either manual or a self tending valve for the vacuum and pressure modes of the system.

  • Patent number: 6035800
Abstract: A dry storage box is held by a clamping device at a longitudinal location along the length of the small watercraft. Dry box provides water tight storage compartment with a hinged lid and latches for storing miscellaneous personal valuables and belongings. The clamped water tight box, in the event of capsize, remains secured to the gunwale, and thus valuables and belongings remain safe, dry and in one location. Incidentally provided are added buoyancy to the vessel in the event of a capsized condition, and when box is in normal use the longitudinal location allows free movement of the occupants about the small watercraft.

  • Patent number: 5857722
Abstract: A holding and raking apparatus designed to facilitate a one person operation for bagging leaves into a held open bag. The holding apparatus stores flat when not in use in order to minimize storage space. Rigid frame sides and conformable top and bottom frame rails allows the frame to be bowed temporarily into essentially a hollow semi-cylindrical shape which is held in that bowed condition by a retaining or securing strap. The lawn clipping and leaf system is further complemented by specially designed scissors-type rake. These raketongs are attached at a pivot point by a clamp or similar fastening apparatus. The raketongs pick leaves up and place them in a vertically positioned bag held in the frame by a natural spring tension at the open top of the frame. In a horizontal position on the ground the taut end of the open bag acts as a dust pan rail for easy collection of leaves and the like.

  • Patent number: 5819576
Abstract: Self-contained snowmobile straightening system with a repair table. The table includes a two-location anchoring system assuring that both the chassis and the suspension of the snowmobile are immobilized in place on the table so that repair work can be accomplished by adjustable and removable pulling equipment structurally associated with the repair table. The chassis is immobilized in place by at least one pair of opposed slide rail clamps which lock both slide rails of a snowmobile in place on the table surface of the straightening system. The snowmobile suspension system is anchored by opposed pairs of running board clamps, while pulling towers and braces, in combination with hydraulic power rams, afford a repair craftsman many necessary multi-directional pulls.

  • Patent number: 5757597
Abstract: A Ground Fault Interrupter ("GFI") combined with a plug-receiving receptacle is mounted in combination with a weathertight container. The container is additionally configured with a weathertight opening through which, a three prong male end of a pigtail from a remote power source is electrically connected to a GFI-protected receptacle. A weathertight lid covering for the container and weathertight rain shield for the container openings assures that the combination is functional during field use or for final storage for user transport of tools and other electrical apparatus. The device is optionally configured with a removable, storable, pedestal pole-mounted light assembly having GFI-protected wiring on the interior of the light pole which may be assembled in combination with the container.

  • Patent number: 5718089
Abstract: A framed modular miniature front for a shelter, which front has a header, threshold and side rails together with an inner wall portion mounted on the surrounding frame. A full length door opening is formed in that wall adjacent a side rail of the modular frame. One or more dutch-type doors are swingably mounted in the opening by dowel hinges. This door opening is covered by a door pinned at the hinge side by a dowel pin that is seated in slightly oversized openings drilled lengthwise into the hinge side of the door. A swing space provides easy and full opening of the hinged door.

  • Patent number: 5685997
Abstract: A plasma oscillator photonic energy water heater/steam boiler, establishes, amplifies and stores photonic energy in a plasma wherein resonance and temporary energy storage is maintained until energy is transferred on demand by thermal radiation and conduction of molecular kinetic energy to a heat exchanger having water to be heated therein. The chamber is a closed hollow internally reflective mirrored cylinder which includes parallel and optically resonant mirrored surfaces for sustaining a plasma oscillation within the container. A containerized molecular gas media is flooded with broad band electromagnetic radiation in order to create population inversions at the electron level in the gaseous atmosphere, and hence, store photonic energy in the plasma oscillator. Water in a heat exchanger immersed within the plasma is heated by thermal radiation energy transfer, and by conduction from a high molecular kinetic energy stored within the plasma.

  • Patent number: 5587862
Abstract: A Ground Fault Interrupter ("GFI") combined with a plug-receiving receptacle is mounted on a plastic bucket. The bucket is additionally configured with a weathertight opening through which a three prong male end of a pigtail electrically connected to the GFI/receptacle unit may pass. A resealable lid provides a weathertight covering for the bucket so that the combination is functional during field use or for final storage for user transport of tools and other electrical apparatus. The device is optionally configured with a removable, storable, pedestal pole-mounted light assembly. A pedestal light support flange is attached to the interior base of the bucket, and container-sized pole sections substantially the same interior clearance height of the container are available for assembling the light pole when needed by a user. The light is powered by the GFI/receptacle unit carried by the bucket.
