Abstract: A mixture of bactericides of nitroimidazoles, particularly 1,2-dimethyl-5-nitro-1H-imidazole, or salts thereof and aldehydes, particularly glutaraldehyde and formaldehyde, has been found to exhibit synergistic results in inhibiting the growth of sulfate-reducing bacteria.
Abstract: An aqueous dispersion useful in formulating water-based printing inks is provided. The dispersion contains water, an alkoxylated primary linear polymeric alcohol dispersant and a finely divided mostly linear aliphatic hydrocarbon having a molecular weight of about 300-3,000 and/or a finely divided chemically modified mostly linear aliphatic hydrocarbon having a molecular weight of about 300-3,000.

Abstract: A fuel oil stabilized with an imine-enamine condensate which is the reaction product of an aldehyde having at least two carbon atoms and/or a ketone and a polyamine of the formula: ##STR1## wherein n is 0 or an integer from 1 to 6, M is a carbon or nitrogen atom and R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently hydrogen, a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group, e.g., alkyl, aryl, aralky, alkaryl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aralkenyl, alkenylaryl, cycloalkenyl and the like or heterocyclyl groups. A method of stabilizing a fuel oil wherein a stabilizing amount of the above mentioned imine-enamine condensate is incorporated into the fuel oil.

Abstract: 2,4-Disubstituted-5-thiazolecarboxylic acids and derivatives thereof have been found to reduce herbicidal injury of corn, rice and sorghum plants due to the application thereto of acetamide herbicides.
Abstract: 2,4-Disubstituted-5-thiazolecarboxylic acids and derivatives thereof have been found to reduce herbicidal injury of corn, rice and sorghum plants due to the application thereto of acetamide herbicides.
Abstract: 3,5-Bis (trifluoromethyl)phenoxy carboxylic acids and derivatives thereof have been found to reduce herbicidal injury of certain food crops, especially grain sorghum, due to the application thereto of herbicides that kill or control weeds that impede the yield of the crops.
Abstract: This invention relates to a new class of organic chemical compounds. More particularly this invention is concerned with derivatives of isophosphinolinone. Compounds of this invention may be employed as active ingredients in herbicides and/or as intermediates in the preparation of other isophosphinolinone derivatives useful to reduce herbicidal injury to treated crop plants.
Abstract: 5-Aryl-4-isothiazolecarboxylic acids have been found to reduce herbicidal injury of rice plants due to the application of 2-chloro-2',6'-diethyl-N-(butoxymethyl)-acetanilide.
Abstract: Imides derived from 2-thioxo-3-benzothiazoline acetic and propionic have been found to be effective as herbicides and plant growth regulants.
Abstract: Pressure-sensitive mark-recording systems of chromogens comprised of diphenylmethane derivatives in solution with selected diester solvents is disclosed as well as pressure-sensitive mark-recording systems comprised of (a) sheet material, (b) mark-forming components supported by the sheet material and arranged in juxtaposition but in unreactive condition, a chromogen, and an acid clay sensitizer for the chromogen, and (c) the solvent supported by the sheet material but separated from the sensitizing agent by a physical barrier which is rupturable on the application of a marking instrument to the sheet material.
Abstract: These compounds have been found to be effective in reducing herbicidal injury to direct-seeded rice caused by 2-chloro-2',6'-diethyl-N-(butoxymethyl)acetanilide.
Abstract: A pressure-sensitive mark-recording system comprising (a) sheet material, (b) mark-forming components supported by the sheet material and arranged in juxtaposition comprising a chromogen material and an acid clay sensitizing agent for the chromogenic material which produces a color from the chromogenic material when brought into contact with the chromogenic material in the presence of a solvent for the chromogenic material with the solvent supported by the sheet material but separated from its sensitizing agent by a physical barrier which is rupturable on the application of the marking instrument to the sheet material, the invention characterized in that the liquid solvent is a solvent comprised of a blend of aromatic hydrocarbon components in which at least one-half the carbon atoms are benzenoid or a mixture of such hydrocarbons, and a diester component.
