  • Patent number: 7055269
Abstract: A wheeled vehicle includes a bottom chassis; a top chassis, which is coupled to the bottom chassis so that it is able to turn about a vertical axis; an operating arm coupled to the top chassis; an axle, which is coupled to the bottom chassis so that it can oscillate about a longitudinal axis of the vehicle; a plurality of wheels disposed on the axle; blocking means disposed between the bottom chassis and the axle for angularly blocking the axle about the longitudinal axis with respect to the bottom chassis; a circuit to activate the blocking means and inhibit oscillation of the axle about the longitudinal axis; and an angle sensor for supplying a signal indicative of the angular position of the operating arm about the vertical axis with respect to the bottom chassis.

  • Patent number: 7055618
Abstract: A hydraulic pump drive is mounted to the tongue of an agricultural implement. Connecting components between the pump and the drawbar extender of the towing tractor aim the pump input shaft toward the tractor. A short telescoping PTO assembly connects the pump shaft to the tractor PTO shaft using conventional PTO components operating in a nominal equal angle configuration.

  • Patent number: 7048106
Abstract: A PTO control system and method for engaging a PTO clutch of a vehicle or work machine such as, but not limited to, an agricultural tractor, that can effectively utilize both engine speed and PTO output speed values for determining a predicted and/or actual PTO load and other variable conditions which can effect engagement, and which can responsively calibrate the system for engagement under the load and other conditions and adaptively control applied acceleration and torque during the engagement.

  • Patent number: 7047876
Abstract: A bale kicker for a round baler that employs an adjustable torsion bar, or bars, to impart a rearward force to an exiting bale to ensure that the completed bale is clear of the baler.

  • Patent number: 7043858
Abstract: A backhoe coupling for joining members of a backhoe attachment is provided, the coupling having a pivot pin assembly that includes a pivot pin and a retaining plate. The pin has a groove for receiving the retaining plate. The retaining plate has an edge that is sized to fit into the groove and prevent it from being extracted. The groove has two blocked regions on opposing sides of the pin that prevent the pin from rotating freely with respect to the retaining plate.

  • Patent number: 7044482
Abstract: A skid steer vehicle has a suspension that includes a control arm pivotally coupled to the vehicle chassis that is supported by a hydraulic cylinder connected to an accumulator to provide springing. A hydraulic circuit coupled to the cylinder and accumulator permit the operator to raise and lower the chassis, to lock the suspension while the vehicle is loaded, and to automatically charge or discharge the accumulator to match the cylinder pressure during loading and unloading. In this manner, when the suspension is unlocked after loading, the vehicle chassis neither rises nor falls.

  • Patent number: 7044258
Abstract: A skid steer vehicle is supported on four gearboxes that function both as control arms and as speed reduction gearboxes. Each side of the vehicle's chassis has two gearboxes to which it is coupled. A hydraulic motor is fixed to each side of the chassis to drive the gearboxes on that side. The motors are arranged such that their drive shafts extend longitudinally along the chassis, with a front shaft engaging the front gearbox and a rear shaft engaging the rear gearbox. The gearboxes include three speed-reducing right angle gear sets coupling an axle extending from the gearbox to the motor driving that gearbox.

  • Patent number: 7028646
Abstract: The cooling system of a skid-steer loader provides for heat exchangers, e.g. liquid, oil coolers, mounted in the upper portion of an engine compartment and in direct communication with a forced air flow. Circulating air is drawn into the engine compartment from the rear, is carried over the engine and is blown out through the heat exchangers to cool the liquid within the heat exchangers. The housing of a centrifugal fan is rigidly coupled to the engine block and the fan is also directly coupled to the engine flywheel. This allows for closer tolerances between the fan and its housing which results in higher efficiency because this dual coupling to the engine inhibits differential vibration between the fan and the housing. Interconnection between the heat exchangers and fan housing is via a flexible bellows and an air diffuser.

  • Patent number: 7028810
Abstract: A work vehicle includes a frame and an axle assembly coupled to the frame. The axle assembly includes a first axle shaft and a first axle housing, with the first axle shaft disposed substantially within the first axle housing; a first wheel coupled to the first axle assembly; an axle lubricating fluid disposed within the first axle housing; and a first axle cooling device disposed within the first axle housing, in contact with at least a portion of the lubricating fluid, and including a first coil. Also disclosed is a method of cooling an axle assembly of a work vehicle. The method includes steps of removing heat from the lubricating fluid by placing the lubricating fluid in contact with the outer surface of a coil, and removing the heat from the inner surface of the coil by circulating the cooling fluid through the passage.
