  • Patent number: 6797195
Abstract: A method for recovering and separating precious and non-precious metals from waste streams, which removes, separates, and recovers such metals in a cost effective manner with more than 95% removed from waste streams and with minimal amounts of unprocessed solids and sludge remaining in the environment. Metals such as chromium, manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, silver, gold, platinum, vanadium, sodium, potassium, beryllium, magnesium, calcium, barium, lead, aluminum, tin; and the like are removed and recovered from the waste streams with at least 95% removal and other metals and compounds, such as antimony, sulfur, and selenium are removed and recovered from waste streams with at least 50% removal. The method employs a unique complexing agent comprising a carbamate compound and an alkali metal hydroxide which facilitates the formation of the metals into ionic metal particles enabling them to be readily separated, removed and recovered.

  • Patent number: 6726010
Abstract: A combination toilet bowl cleaning brush and a brush holder includes a toilet bowl cleaning brush with a brush head, a non-flexible shaft and a bulbous handle. The non-flexible shaft extends linearly from the brush head to a positively curved portion and thence to a second linear portion that connects to the bulbous handle. The brush holder includes a circular, flat surface base and a cylindrical wall rising from the base. The cylindrical wall which extends around less than half of a minor circumference of the base rises linearly from the base to a negative curved portion, the upper end of the wall covering a radius of the base. The upper end of the cylindrical wall includes an open groove for receiving the shaft of the cleaning brush. The positive curved shaft and the negative curved wall intersect at the open groove, securing the cleaning brush in the brush holder.

  • Patent number: 6655197
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards an apparatus for monitoring and displaying characteristic values of certain parameters of the automatic transmission fluid in the automatic transmission system or the automatic transaxle system of a land motor vehicle. The apparatus has several elements to it: a sensor, which is placed into a conduit carrying the automatic transmission fluid to read the characteristic values, microprocessor, which receives these values, and finally a readout component, which displays them. The characteristic values of the automatic transmission fluid may include the values for the flow rate, pressure, temperature, and others. The readout component may be a diagnostic tool used for maintenance and/or repair or a dashboard display component used by the driver or the operator of the motor vehicle while the vehicle is in motion.

  • Patent number: 6637574
Abstract: An improvement in a motor vehicle transmission/casing assembly where an end pressure plate of a clutch plate assembly, is positioned on a surface of an hydraulic piston located in the casing of the transmission/casing assembly. Spaced externally extending splines on the pressure plate are positioned in correspondingly spaced channels in the interior casing wall, for arresting the pressure plate from rotation. A loosely fitted buffer member or liner is positioned in each channel between the periphery of the externally extending splines and the walls of the channel for intercepting contact between the spline of the pressure plate and the wall of the channel. A groove in a circumference of the interior wall of the casing, supports a snap ring which transverses each channel and blocks the buffer member, positioned in the channel, from slipping out of the channel.

  • Patent number: 6634478
Abstract: The present invention is directed to “wet” friction clutch packs used in land motor vehicle's transmissions. The clutch pack comprises a multitude of friction plates and steel plates, which are stacked one upon the other. The clutch pack further comprises a multitude of splines attached to the outer portions of the steel plates. The steel splines have rubber inserts attached to them. When hydraulic pressure is applied to the clutch pack it is compressed engaging the friction and steel plates and allowing the clutch pack to rotate, however, when the pressure is released the friction plates stay static, whereas the steel plates rotate. The rubber inserts facilitate a rapid release when the clutch pack is disengaged. When pressure is applied to the clutch pack, the rubber inserts do not interfere with the proper operation of the clutch pack.
