  • Patent number: 4710013
Abstract: An automatic focusing camera is operated between daylight and flash modes automatically responsively to ambient light photosensings. The lens is operable between a near-focus setting and a far-focus setting, taking the far-focus setting automatically in the daylight mode. In flash mode the aperture is automatically set to its maximum value, whereas in daylight mode the aperture is automatically set to one of at least two reduced aperture settings. The largest aperture setting in daylight mode is the hyperfocal aperture setting corresponding to the far-focus lens setting. A further reduction in aperture below the hyperfocal value is governed by a filmspeed entry system and ambient light sensings. The changeover threshold between daylight and flash mode is also governed by the filmspeed entry system.

  • Patent number: 4709230
Abstract: A color converter circuit particularly suited for use with computer-steered multi-color display units accepts at its input terminals a plurality of color commands from the associated computer or other signal source, and includes manual selection means for selecting a corresponding plurality of different output color commands to be actuated selectively upon response of each different input color command to provide manual control of the colors of the generated pattern, without requiring software modification. Associated indicator lights adjacent each of the color-selecting switches indicate which colors in the form of color commands are being sent from the computer. A simplified version of the converter accepts monochrome commands capable of giving only dark and bright commands from the computer, and selectively provides optionally chosen different color commands to the display unit to correspond to each of the two input signal conditions.

  • Patent number: 4689819
Abstract: A sub-miniature power amplifier for hearing aids configured to be completely self-contained and to fit within the user's ear features a Class D amplifier stage providing a peak-to-peak output voltage greater than the power supply voltage. By configuring all signal elements as digital units, circuit balance is readily maintained. A substantial economy of battery drain is achieved while preserving a low value of distortion at low signal levels. Oscillator frequency is governed by a single resistance element. The amplifier and an optional efficiency-improving inductor can be accommodated entirely within the residual volume of the motor chamber of a state-of-the-art earphone housing. Pulse feedback networks are provided to achieve positive stable latching of each output pulse throughout its duration without producing significant pulse duration distortions.

  • Patent number: 4687314
Abstract: A delayed shutter actuation system for cameras providing from pre-flash or ambient light sensings automatic focusing control, automatic aperture control, or both, features a spring-energized shutter slide member coupled to a velocity limiter over an initial portion of the release stroke. A spring-driven focus control member, or a spring-driven exposure control member, or both, are coupled through movable regulator members to the shutter slide through lost motion couplings so that their respective movement rates are governed by the velocity limiter until they are locked in proper position by electrically controlled locks controlled responsively to such sensings. During a terminal portion of the motion of the shutter slide the velocity limiter automatically disengages to allow an unimpeded motion of the slide to actuate the shutter.

  • Patent number: 4686702
Abstract: A signal transmission control apparatus connected between a telephone line and a terminal device controls signal transmission therebetween in no-ringing service. First DC and AC circuits of the apparatus become conductive in response to a DC control voltage from the telephone line. The first DC and AC circuits are connected to the telephone lines and the leads of a primary coil of the transformer of the apparatus. The secondary coil of the transformer is connected to the terminal device and an amplifier and first detection device of the apparatus. A subsequent AC calling signal from the telephone line, received on the first AC circuit, effects conduction in second DC and AC circuits through serial operation of the first detection circuit, a control circuit, a switching transistor and closure of relay contacts.

  • Patent number: 4681416
Abstract: A camera shutter cocking system employs a specially configured cam driven synchronously with a film-engaging sprocket to actuate a shutter cocking lever from a released to a shutter cocking condition by means of a cam follower mounted on the cocking lever. The cam preferably has two lobes, each configured to maintain the shutter cocking load on an electric motor drive system generally constant throughout substantially the entire film advancing operation. Excessive terminal overspeed of the motor drive system is thereby suppressed. A one-way clutch between the cam and the sprocket disengages the shutter cocking system from the motor drive during rewind and traps the cocking lever in a released position, thus preventing multiple double exposure of the film if the shutter release button is accidentally held down by the user during this operation.

  • Patent number: 4623232
Abstract: The camera preferably has a slotted take-up spool which when the film compartment covering door is opened is automatically rotated into an ideal position where a hook in a film-capturing slot thereof has an outward facing orientation ideal for capturing a film leader perforation when the film leader is inserted therein. The slot is preferably configured as a lengthwise passage leading into a hollow axially disposed chamber within the take-up spool, the trailing edge of the slot nearest the imaging station being provided with the hook. This edge is positioned so that it does not come into confronting engagement with the film during initial advance thereof until the film is firmly captively secured over the hook.

  • Patent number: RE32558
Abstract: An electrically driven automatic film advance camera with automatic transition to rewind without external actuation is described. Film advance after each exposure occurs automatically after release of the shutter actuating button by means of an integral electric drive motor preferably contained within the film take-up spool. The end of film condition during film advance is signalled by a sudden onset in film tension, which actuates a switching system to reverse motor drive polarity and power the motor until the film is completely rewound into the cassette, whereupon motor actuation ceases. A take-up spool gear drive train remains fully engaged at all times. During the rewind operation both the take-up spool and the drive spool are driven simultaneously by the drive motor to facilitate film disengagement. A film engaging sprocket serves to govern film advance for framing purposes, the sprocket being principally in an idling state throughout the film advance operation.
