  • Patent number: 7153313
Abstract: An improved ear pressure device and process for the treatment of an auricular hematoma in a pendent ear of an animal. The device is comprised of two opposing rigid plates each containing at least one raised lineal or area encompassing rib located on an inward surface and used for applying pressure and controlling blood flow to and from the area treated. The process includes: aspirating pooled blood with a hypodermic needle: attaching the first plate to the ear with the raised rib toward the ear using athletic tape; aligning and attaching the opposing plate, rib facing inward, to the first plate and the ear; taping the entire device to the top of the animal's head with athletic tape over and under forming a loop around the head of the animal while allowing for normal breathing to occur. The device applies even pressure from both opposing plates and the raised ribs control the blood flow. The device and the process eliminates the need for surgery, sutures, and possible infection therefrom.

  • Patent number: 7044449
Abstract: A reusable fence post for supporting roll-up safety fencing comprises an elongated hollow post having an outside V-angle disposed along a first exterior side of the hollow post; a stake extending downward from a built-in sliding hammer for installing the reusable fence post in the ground without tools; and an elongated jaw member having an inside V-angle hinged at the lower end of the hollow post. The elongated jaw member swings away from the hollow post to receive the plastic fencing and swings toward the hollow post to be latched to the hollow post and held between inside and outside V-angle clamping surfaces, thereby securely clamping the safety fencing to prevent it from slipping either lengthwise or across the width of the fencing. In an alternate embodiment, the outside V-angle serves as the fence post; and the stake, having a cap at its upper end, slides within pipe sections attached to the post.

  • Patent number: 6941926
Abstract: There is disclosed herein an improved air and fuel intake system for a high performance internal combustion engine for installing on a supercharger or the intake manifold of the engine. The air intake system is attached to the mounting surface of the supercharger or intake manifold such that the plurality of separate air passages of the intake system ensure the uniform distribution of intake air to all parts of the supercharger or intake manifold. Each air passage has a decreasing cross-sectional area along the direction of air flow to increase the velocity of the intake air. The air intake system includes a forwardly disposed air inlet, which faces in the direction of travel of a vehicle powered by the engine. The air passages are controlled by butterfly air valves in the air inlet.

  • Patent number: 6233128
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for retaining parameter information generated or received in an electronic circuit breaker (10). The electronic circuit breaker (10) includes a controller and is connected in a branch circuit coupled to a power source via a power line and powered by the power source. Upon occurence of a power fault, a control signal responsive to the power fault is generated and coupled to a control input of the circuit breaker. The control signal causes retention of parameter information generated or received in the electronic circuit breaker (10). Means for retaining the data representing parameter information include charging a storage capacitor to a predetermined value corresponding to the parameter information being retained, writing the parameter information being retained to an EEPROM and writing the data containing the parameter information being retained into a Static RAM.

  • Patent number: 6219155
Abstract: A method for providing color correction to a color marking engine for halftone and contone images includes the step of first generating a test pattern. This test pattern has a plurality of discrete images disposed thereon with the discrete images having characteristics that are correlated with parameters of the print job. In one mode, they relate to halftone images that have differing densities of dots, each less than 100% density. The images are correlated to different bit values for the same densities such that the maximum density value for the pixel is offset for different images. A user then views the different images and determine which one is closest to a true gray and then selects the offset bit value for that image as the marking engine offset. This can then be applied to that particular marking engine. This can be utilized for a plurality of marking engines (651) with a single RIP (650).
