  • Patent number: 7042728
Abstract: A clamping structure is used to fix a heat-dissipating body on a chip module. The clamping structure comprises a clamping body, two clamping portions, a pivot element, a top frame and a bottom frame. The two clamping portions are respectively connected to two sides of the clamping body and are clamped to the bottom frame. The pivot element is pivotally connected to the clamping body and has a movable portion and an ear piece. The ear piece has a fixed portion and a release portion respectively formed at an end side thereof for fixing and releasing the heat-dissipating body. The clamping structure is used to eliminate a spare gap between the clamping element and the top frame, and clamping element and the bottom frame without using the elastic element. The clamping structure can also be used with a heat sink to form a heat-dissipating module.

  • Patent number: 7029319
Abstract: An electrical connector is provided for terminating a flat electrical circuit which has a given width and an insertion end narrower than the given width to define at least one shoulder section at a side of the circuit. The connector includes a dielectric housing having opening for receiving the insertion end of the flat circuit in an insertion direction. A plurality of terminals are mounted on the housing at the opening. An actuator is movably mounted on the housing for movement between an open position allowing the insertion end of the flat circuit to be inserted into the opening, and a closed position to relatively bias the flat circuit against the terminals. A circuit-suppressing member projects outwardly of the housing opposite the insertion direction for engaging the shoulder section of the flat circuit to prevent the flat circuit from being bent upwardly against the actuator.

  • Patent number: 6957986
Abstract: A compressible pin assembly includes a barrel, a contact pin and an elastic element. The contact pin is arranged within the barrel. The contact pin has a contact element. The elastic element is arranged within the barrel to bias the contact pin, so that the contact element is flexibly extended out the front end of the barrel. The barrel has aperture formed therein, which allows superfluous gold plating liquid within the barrel to be eliminated smoothly, after the gold plating process. Thus, the barrel will obtain a more uniform and complete electroplated layer with the use of less gold plating liquid. A stopper will then be inserted into the aperture to prevent impurities from entering the hollow chamber of the barrel. This invention will provide a less expensive compressible pin assembly having greater conductivity.

  • Patent number: 6918798
Abstract: A female terminal with a mating end suited for receiving a male pin with flat surfaces and a circuit-connecting end for connection to a wire. A terminal-receiving passageway at the mating end has two spaced apart sidewalls, which may be in the form of U-shaped channels, extending lengthwise along the passageway with one or more slots separating the U-shaped channels. Enlarged flat contacting surfaces are formed in the opposing sidewalls and are disposed at an angle to the sidewalls. The sidewalls resiliently flex apart from each other as the male pin is inserted into the passageway such that the angled contacting surfaces become coplanar with the flat surfaces of the male pin and electrically contact the male pin over a greater area than that provided by dimples. One or more notches may be disposed at selected points in the sidewalls of the female terminal to better define and control the flexing characteristics of the spaced apart sidewalls.
