  • Patent number: 7699187
Abstract: An end fitting for a cylindrical high pressure vessel made from components all having thin walls, thereby tripling the practical diameter of such pressure vessels. The end fitting includes a toroidal shell defining a hole; centrally disposed piece for closing the hole comprising a pipe and a center end fitting and structural members. In a first embodiment, the structural members comprise slices of an end of the pipe welded to the outer cylindrical wall of the vessel. In a second embodiment, the structural members are plates connecting the pipe to the outer cylindrical walls. In the third embodiment, the plates connect an extension of the outer cylindrical wall beyond the toroidal shell to an extension of the outer cylindrical wall of the pressure vessel. The center end fitting may be hemispheric or ellipsoidal.

  • Patent number: 7587499
Abstract: A customizable system for filtering web-based HTTP requests for outbound and inbound access to web sites. An administrative module includes configuration settings for inbound and outbound communications, list maintenance functions and that is located in a user computer for configuring a range of access levels from maximum 100% access to full suspension and having administrator account, regular accounts and an anonymous guest account to be used by all users with no valid system user name and password. If a user attempts to access an unfriendly site the user is anonymously forwarded to a friendly site or the request is terminated. A first proxy server in each user computer of a local area network has access to the world wide web, has a customizable friendly and unfriendly outbound list, one of which is active and a customizable friendly and unfriendly inbound list, one of which is active.

  • Patent number: 7531579
Abstract: A method of making a sorbent from waste rubber and a method of sorbing oil using such sorbent. Approximately two pounds of modifier is added to 100 pounds of vulcanized rubber waste, the modifier comprising a mixture by weight of (i) a slightly water-soluble organic acid having a melting point of 70° C. or higher representing 80%, (ii) quinine group bases representing 19% and (iii) 1% of an anti sliding ingredient such as colophony, running the mixture of rubber waste and modifier in a roll mill approximately six times to crush it and placing the crushed modified rubber particles in an extruder for 2-10 minutes at 120-150° C. The sorbent can then be applied to oil to sorb six times its own weight in oil. The sorbent can be re-used two more times after extracting the oil. The sorbent is also effective at filtering oil from water.

  • Patent number: 7412995
Abstract: A two-in-one handbag has different color patterns in two different closed positions. The handbag's two connected halves have inner rectangular facades and have outer arcuate façades having multiple horizontal segment, the first and second halves each having a substantially D-shaped cross-section. Flaps alternately cover the contiguous horizontal segments have outer sides of a first color and undersides of a second color so that a different color pattern emerges in the first closed position as compared to the second closed position. After the handbag is opened normally into two halves, it can continue to be opened when the halves continue to be rotated away from each to reach the second closed position by rotating the first outer arcuate façade along an entire surface of the second outer arcuate façade or vice versa. Each half's compartment is covered by a zippered cover to store objects. Reinforcing closure devices include magnets, snaps, Velcro.

  • Patent number: 7374503
Abstract: When a rod extending out of the bottom of a hollow rigid plastic trunk encasing a collapsible basketball backboard is pushed up, the backboard comes out of the top of the trunk and opens and a rim rotates 90 degrees to an “up” position perpendicular to the trunk. A pulley system inside the trunk, one end of which is connected to the push rod, controls rotation of a hinge attached to a rim, the hinge sitting in an opening in the top of the trunk. When the rod is pulled, the planar segments of the backboard fold to a point one behind the other and go downward to fit into the trunk and the hoop moves to a “down” position. In open position the backboard segments fan out. The rod has a V-shaped attachment piece connecting the top of the rod to the common bottom border of the backboard.

  • Patent number: 7351245
Abstract: An apparatus for sucking out an object stuck in a person's throat, comprising hollow first and second bellows elements each having an orifice with a one-way valve and an exit valve, a tube structure comprising first and second legs having free distal ends outside the first and second bellows element respectively and proximal ends extending into at least the respective orifices, the first leg and the second leg joined at their respective free distal ends to form a double hose having a pliable sealing structure integral thereto at a distal end to seal the trachea and esophagus, and a handle element connected to a top portion of the first and second bellows elements to contract the first and second bellows elements. When the handle is released a sucking of air through the tube structure occurs and the first and second bellows elements expand back to their original size.

  • Patent number: 7321781
Abstract: A cellular telephone designed specifically to be visually appealing and practical for the elderly and those with reduced dexterity. Although the keypad buttons on the cellular telephone are approximately 260 square millimeters and have large spaces between adjacent keys to reduce instances of pressing the wrong button and to optimize visibility of the character digits on the key, the entire cellular telephone is approximately three inches wide, is lightweight and folds into a compact space, and can be held in one hand by an elderly individual. A large display is present. At least three jumbo integer keys are present on each portion of the foldable interactive surface. Unnecessary technological function keys are eliminated. Pressing the “HELP” key on the reverse side of the telephone body calls a medical or rescue service and displays medical information on the display.

  • Patent number: 7299758
Abstract: A boat lift transportation assembly for boat lifts is attachable to and removable from any cantilever boat lift. It comprises a steerable front lever that is positioned adjacent the front upper and lower cross-members of the boat lift and left and right rear levers positioned adjacent the rear upper and lower cross-members. Each lever has a wheel on the bottom so that the boat lift is automatically placed on wheels when the boat lift is raised, provided the levers have been positioned previously. Besides the wheel on the bottom, each lever has a height adjustable beam having a lower and upper hook. The boat lift's lower cross-members sit on the rest areas of the lower hooks and the boat lift's upper cross-rnembers are restricted by the upper hooks.
