  • Patent number: 6891284
Abstract: A switch and method are provided for turning on and off an electrical device. The switch includes a control module, having a time module and an electrical output to which an electrical device can be connected. The time module includes a clock which is programmable to disconnect power to the electrical device at a set-off time. A light sensor is operatively associated with the control module and transmits a light signal to the control module based on light level. The control module is adapted to provide power to the electrical output when the light module indicates that the light level is below a threshold level and the time is before the set-off time thereby providing power to an electrical device connected to the electrical output.

  • Patent number: 6601695
Abstract: A differential motion conveyor drive includes at least three pairs of drive shafts carrying eccentric weights that are selected to correspond to the terms of a Fourier series in order to achieve optimal conveying speed and efficiency. To approximate the Fourier series terms, in one preferred embodiment, each of the first pair of shafts carries a weight and rotates at a predetermined operating speed &ohgr;. Each of the second pair of shafts carries a smaller weight and rotates at an operating speed 2&ohgr;, and each of the third pair of shafts carries an even smaller weight and rotates at an operating speed 3&ohgr;. An appropriate weight distribution results in a differential motion conveyor drive that consistently produces a higher conveying speed compared to that produced by a prior art drive throughout a range of operating speeds.

  • Patent number: 6550952
Abstract: An illuminating device comprising an optical waveguide having at least one set of LEDs positioned adjacent one end surface and having a portion of the surface area treated so as to cause a portion of the light directed along the length of the waveguide to be reflected out of the waveguide through a second surface area located intermediate the length of the waveguide. Indicia may be located within the treated portion of the surface area so as to be illuminated and made visible to a viewer through the second surface area.
