Abstract: A camera that produces a special photographic effect known as a "freeze" by simultaneously photographing an active subject from multiple perspectives. Multiple individual cameras are operated via a single computer controller and powered by a single external DC power supply. The photographs are then edited and sequenced to form a moving picture.
Abstract: The panic exit device includes several features which improve its ease of use and operability over earlier devices including: (1) an improved latch deadlocking mechanism; (2) an improved latch to pad mechanism; (3) a pad lock down feature; (4) an improved universal mounting plate and easily mounted strike; and (5) a vertical rod-bottom bolt deadlockig mechanism in its center case. The latch deadlocking mechanism includes a deadlock link, which in the event of a fire, will block the movement of the latch bolt.

Abstract: The present invention is a system for chemometric analysis for the extraction of the individual component fluorescence spectra and fluorescence lifetimes from a target mixture. The present invention combines a processor with an apparatus for generating an excitation signal to transmit at a target mixture and an apparatus for detecting the emitted signal from the target mixture. The present invention extracts the individual fluorescence spectrum and fluorescence lifetime measurements from the frequency and wavelength data acquired from the emitted signal. The present invention uses an iterative solution that first requires the initialization of several decision variables and the initial approximation determinations of intermediate matrices. The iterative solution compares the decision variables for convergence to see if further approximation determinations are necessary.

Abstract: This invention continuously monitors the differential pressure between two environments, and dynamically adjusts the air handling system of the controlled environment to maintain a desired differential pressure setpoint by using a closed loop control methodology. Local and remote users can initialize, configure, monitor, and readjust the differential pressure setpoint as necessary. A differential pressure sensor transmits data to the system controller for processing and analysis. The system controller interfaces to a wide variety of air handling systems by using interchangeable air handling subsystems that plug into the invention. Each subsystem has the necessary hardware interface and software control methodology to easily and transparently enable the system controller to interface with a wide variety of air handling configurations.
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus that transmits the stereo and the surround sound information of the L-R signal without excessive attenuation at the higher frequencies in order to allow transmission of surround sound through a noisy medium. The apparatus includes a surround sound conditioner coupled to receive a L-R signal portion of the television signal for pre-emphasizing and companding the L-R signal to produce a conditioned L-R signal; a mixer coupled to the surround sound conditioner for switching the conditioned L-R signal at a predetermined value to produce an amplitude modulated L-R signal; and a synchronizing circuitry coupled to the mixer for maintaining the predetermined value in step with the reference value, wherein the mixed L-R signal is combined with a L+R signal portion of the television signal to produce a composite output signal.

Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for background generation and chroma replacement for use with video and digital imaging that includes motion pictures, television, commercial and portrait photography. The present invention comprises a projection device that generates and projects a background image where the projection device further comprises a front projecting device and a retroreflective screen. The front projection device couples to a camera and comprises a projector with a removeable filter coupled to a beamsplitter enclosure. The beamsplitter enclosure comprises a beamsplitter with a quick connect coupling. A sizing ring couples the quick connect coupling to the camera lens. The removable filter in the projector may comprise a solid colored filter or a photographic image.
Abstract: The handle has an insert portion having a plurality of radially extending fins and a grip surface. The handle is inserted into a hollow core. The fins provide a fit that allows the core to rotate relative to the handle. The fins can deform when subjected to such rotation. The grip is positioned to allow the user to squeeze the handle against the core to slow or stop said rotation.
Abstract: A graphical, interactive debugger for a computer-based discrete-event simulation model of systems having parallel processes includes a run-time graphic user interface module in which predefined events of the executing simulation model are animated, and a run-time interface simulator module for controlling execution of the simulation model based on commands from the graphical user interface. The model and the animation are based on hierarchical directed process execution graphs in which a transaction represents one of several processes executing in parallel within the system modeled with the graphs. One transaction at a time is shown moving between nodes in one of the graphs. The animation follows the transaction as it moves between sub-models represented by each graph, switching to other graphs as needed. Once the transaction is blocked, the next transaction is displayed in context of the appropriate graph and followed until it is blocked. The screen on which animation is presented is divided into two areas.

Abstract: A package comprising a container having regular information on an outer surface thereof and a wrapper extending at least partially over the container surface and bearing information of which at least some is substantially identical to at least some of the regular information on the outer container surface.
Abstract: A cover sheet for medical tables, beds or gurneys comprises a sheet formed from a high tensile strength, plastic with opposed ends of the sheet folded and seamed to provide pockets. The pockets are inverted for assemblage over the ends of the medical tables, beds or gurneys. Methods of continuously fabricating such cover sheets from a roll of plastic material are also disclosed.
Abstract: An exerciser for treating wrist injuries or conditions including carpal tunnel syndrome is formed by a handle attached to a track of continuous loops. A moveable bead on the track is maneuvered from one end of the track to the other by manipulating the exerciser preferable with the patient using only her wrist. The motion required to move the bead along the track is therapeutic for those suffering from wrist disorders including carpal tunnel syndrome. Additionally, the track is formed from a flexible material allowing the track to be moved between a compressed position for storage and travel and an expanded position for use.
