Abstract: A device for creating a channel between the stomach lumen and the abdominal surface of a patient. The device includes a tube and a first bolster. The tube has a proximal end, a distal end, and a wall, the wall having an inner surface and an outer surface, and each end having an opening therein. The first bolster is attached to the distal end of the tube and the tube is adapted to slidably receive a feeding device having a shaft, wherein at least a portion of the outer diameter of the shaft of the feeding device is substantially the same size as that of the inner wall of the tube. The first bolster is adapted to sealingly engage with the patient so as to minimize or avoid fluid leakage about the tube. The present invention is also directed to a method of using an artificial stoma.

Abstract: The invention describes a percutaneous gastrointestinal anchoring kit having an anchor, an introducer, a guide, an inflator, and a retainer. The anchor contains a ballooned region and a shaft portion. The retainer secures the anchor within the stomach when the ballooned region is inflated by seating against an exterior surface of the patient body and placing a tractive force on the ballooned region so as to pull the gastric lumen to an interior abdominal wall of the patient body. The introducer is used to insert the anchor initially within the stomach. The guide positions the ballooned region of the anchor within the stomach by enabling manipulation from an exterior surface of the patient body. The inflator is used to selectively inflate or deflate the ballooned region as needed.

Abstract: A clamp for use with a flexible tube is disclosed. The clamp has a first and a second body portion each having a channel positioned upon a surface of the body portion. A detent mechanism is provided for securing the first and second body portions together such that the channel in one body portion aligns with the channel in the other body portion forming a passage through the clamp.

Abstract: A patch having a notch therein and a tie coupled thereto is used to provide a closure for a garment, such as a gown. The notch is formed along an edge of the patch, and the tie is coupled to the patch such that it is positioned to extend across and beyond the notch. The notch acts to disperse tension on the patch when tension is applied to the tie. A gown having a notched patch is also disclosed.

Abstract: A unitary component having a tip portion integrally formed with an expandable sleeve portion. Other aspects of the present invention are related to a catheter incorporating a unitary component. Still other aspects of the present invention will be apparent upon reading the remainder of the disclosure.

Abstract: A single use disposable dispenser adapted to dispense sheet material therefrom is provided and includes a housing configured to provide a shipping carton and a dispenser housing for a roll of sheet material. The housing includes a base having a central area and an opening therein. The base is configured to support a roll of sheet material above at least a portion of the central area. The housing includes an exit port positioned a distance from the opening in the base. Sheet material disposed in the dispenser flows through the opening in the base and the exit port in a circuitous path.

Abstract: A dispenser and system for dispensing sheet material is provided. The dispenser includes a housing including a container and a lid. The container and lid cooperate to provide an inner surface formed to include an internal compartment configured to hold sheet material. The housing includes an exit port for withdrawal of sheet material therefrom. The dispenser also includes a sheet mover mounted to the housing. A portion of the sheet mover is configured to move over at least a portion of a sheet material positioned in the housing such that at least the portion of the sheet material is moved away from additional sheet materials positioned adjacent thereto by the sheet mover. The portion moved away is positioned to be easily withdrawn through the exit port by a user. The system includes the dispenser having a sheet mover and a plurality of sheet materials disposed in the dispenser. A disposable, one-use dispensing system is provided as well.

Abstract: A shipping carton adapted to hold sheet products in packages is provided. The shipping carton includes a carton having an internal compartment configured to hold packages of sheet products. The carton has a first pull tab and a second pull tab. A tear strip is connected to the first pull tab and it extends about an inner surface of an inner perimeter of the carton to connect to the second pull tab. The tear strip is configured such that when a user pulls as least one of the first and second pull tabs, the carton is separated into two separate containers. A shipping assembly and a method of using a shipping carton are also provided.

Abstract: A multi-headed ink-jet system adapted to eject encapsulated liquids is provided, which includes a plurality of concentric piezoelectric members. Each concentric piezoelectric member has a chamber configured to carry a liquid therethrough, and each concentric piezoelectric member is in liquid communication with an exit port provided in a concentric orifice. When each concentric piezoelectric member is actuated, a liquid contained in its chamber is moved near or through the concentric orifice. The plurality of concentric piezoelectric members cooperate to control the ejection of liquids through the concentric orifice to permit one liquid to be encapsulated by another liquid to form an encapsulated droplet. A method of operating a multi-headed ink-jet system adapted to eject encapsulated liquids.

Abstract: An apparatus adapted for use with a dispenser housing for rolled sheet material to provide reliable dispensing of sheet material therefrom is provided. The apparatus is adapted for a dispenser housing which includes a roll support configured to hold at least one cylindrical roll of sheet material and a dispensing assembly. The dispensing assembly includes an exit port to permit sheet material to be withdrawn therefrom. The cylindrical roll of sheet material is desirably mounted on a portion of the roll support. The roll includes opposing flat surfaces and an outer circumference, the apparatus comprises a guide roller including an elongated central portion positioned between two opposing ends and a flange positioned near each end of the guide roller. The central portion is configured to be positioned adjacent the outer circumference of a roll of sheet material when the roll is a new roll disposed in the dispenser housing.

Abstract: A dispenser containing sheets, for example, dry sheets and premoistened sheets is provided. The dispenser is adapted to be releasably coupled to a conventional rolled product fixture, such as one that holds a roll of toilet tissue in a bathroom. The dispenser may include a cartridge which is positioned in the housing of the dispenser which holds sheets. The sheets dispense from the cartridge and the dispenser.

Abstract: A dispenser is provided which is adapted for dispensing from a table top and it is convertible to dispense from a conventional rolled product fixture. The dispenser includes a housing having a compartment configured to hold sheets. The housing also has a dispensing opening. The housing is configured to be positioned on a table top for dispensing sheets therefrom, and the housing includes a hanging port which permits the housing to be coupled to a conventional rolled product fixture. The hanging port is masked when the dispenser is positioned for dispensing from a table top. The hanging port is easily unmasked and configured to releasably couple the housing to a fixture in a bathroom for dispensing sheets therefrom.

Abstract: A dispenser adapted to dispense sheet material therefrom is provided and includes a housing including a base and a cover. The base includes a platform configured to support sheet material. The platform includes a dispensing disk and the platform has an outer perimeter intersected by a slot thereby providing an opening into the platform and dispensing disk. The housing is formed to include an exit port spaced apart from the platform and dispensing disk. The cover includes a rotatable disk having a plurality of user interchangeable dispensing slots of differing diameters intersecting an outer periphery of the rotatable disk. Sheet material positioned on the platform flows through the dispensing opening of the dispensing disk and through a selected one of the plurality of dispensing slots. The selected one of the plurality of dispensing slots is aligned with the exit port.

Abstract: A disposable face mask includes a mask body covering substantially a nose, mouth, and chin of a wearer, and an extension provided with the mask body. The extension is configured to encircle a back of a wearer's head and to substantially cover a wearer's cheeks, jaw, and ears. A substantial portion of the extension is formed from a resilient material treated with a repellant agent to prevent contaminants from entering or exiting such treated portion of the extension.

Abstract: A disposable face mask includes a mask body covering substantially a nose and mouth of a wearer, and a connecting means included with the mask body. The connecting means includes a pair of ties, an elastic cord, and/or an extension having lateral panels which have a connectable section. A cord is coupled to and extends between at least one pair of lateral panels. The connecting means is configured to releasable encircle a back of a wearer's head to hold a mask body in position over a wearer's nose and mouth.

Abstract: A non-refillable dispenser containing both premoistened and dry sheets is provided. The dispenser includes a housing having a polygonal shape. The housing has a first compartment configured to hold and dispense therefrom a plurality of premoistened sheets, and a second compartment configured to hold and dispense therefrom a plurality of dry sheets. A dispensing opening is defined in each of the first and second compartments for dispensing the sheets therefrom. At least one pair of openings is positioned through at least one of the first and second compartments of the housing. The openings are configured to receive a roll mount of a standard rolled bath tissue fixture therethrough. The dispenser is coupled to the roll mount, which is coupled to the fixture.

The platform includes a slot, and an adjustable orifice configured to alter a size of the slot is provided as well. Sheet material disposed in the dispenser follows a circuitous path between the opening in the tray and through the exit port in a substantially flat configuration. A system for providing a disposable dispenser and a roll of sheet material.

The arms are readily releasable to permit the housing to be releasably coupled to a fixture in a bathroom.
