  • Patent number: 7801075
Abstract: A base station using multiple antennas receives channel quality information from a terminal so as to allocate uplink/downlink resources to the terminal. Herein, the channel quality information is measured on the basis of a downlink preamble or pilot signal, and may include a received CINR or received signal strength. In addition, the base station predicts a received SINR by using a channel response and channel quality information between the multiple antennas and the terminal, and allocates a resource to the terminal according to the received SINR.

  • Patent number: 7801252
Abstract: Provided is a channel estimation apparatus and method. In the channel estimation apparatus, a channel estimator performs channel estimation onto a received symbol and output a channel estimation result. The channel estimation result is stored in an estimation buffer along with a channel estimation result compensated in a preamble phase compensator. The preamble phase compensator receives a channel estimation result for pilot subcarriers of a data symbol and a preamble channel estimation result from the estimation buffer, acquires a phase rotation value between them, and compensates the preamble channel estimation result with the phase rotation value. When FCH and DL-MAP are demodulated, pilot subcarriers in the Nth PUSC symbol have been used to estimate the channel of the Nth PUSC symbol.

  • Patent number: 7796548
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and a method for setting an internal time corresponding to a standard time at a current location in a mobile station of an asynchronous scheme. The mobile station of the asynchronous scheme uses a Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP), which is an application of a Network Time Protocol (NTP), allowing the mobile station to easily update internal time information using a synchronized time. The SNTP can provide a time value which can be used to accurately reset an internal time of the mobile station of the asynchronous scheme. By using the SNTP, the mobile station of the asynchronous scheme can obtain exact time information as in a CDMA network and update the mobile station's internal time with the time corresponding to an area in which a standard time is changed.

  • Patent number: 7796997
Abstract: Disclosed is a cellular-based wireless communication system, and more particularly a method for allocating resources for data transmission in a cellular-based wireless communication system employing a multicarrier scheme. Frequency resources are divided into time slots defined by one frame and the divided time slots are allocated to an uplink and the downlink. During a predetermined time period, the frequency resources are allocated as resources for transmitting sync preambles. During a next predetermined time period, the frequency resources are allocated in such a manner that the frequency resources for sectors are successively and repeatedly used as resources for transmitting broadcasting messages on a sector-by-sector basis. In the remaining time slots, except the time slots for transmitting the preambles and the broadcasting messages, the frequency resources are allocated as resources for transmitting channel estimation midambles for dynamic channel allocation.
