Patent number: 7156092Abstract: Provides an emergency air supply system that is worn around the arm, presumably the wrist, and intended for use in air restrictive emergency conditions. Primarily it has been designed for the need to improve safety for water recreation or water sports where an individual is often caught gasping for air. This device is purposely designed to be no more obtrusive than a piece of clothing, such as a bathing suit, or a watch band would be, in order that it does not unduly restrict the water activity or water sport or any other potentially air restrictive activity you may engage in. The design is intended to encourage usage and increase safety, by way of its structural design that uses the strap-band itself as the mechanical structure of the entire mechanism. Thus creating a unique compact design, that is convenient to wear and provides air when you most need it.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2003Date of Patent: January 2, 2007Inventor: Russell Wolfe Otter

Patent number: 7080916Abstract: The present invention is for special effects drinking lid and straw, which can be used with various drinking containers. The specially designed container lid has special effects mechanisms that can illuminate the container lid, the container itself, the straw as well as figures, objects and designs connected to the lid and/or straw. Different special effects mechanisms can be used to produce light, sound, create movement in a moveable object, and/or produce a distinctive aroma or odor from a drinking container lid.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2004Date of Patent: July 25, 2006Assignee: Jim McCafferty Productions, Inc.Inventors: Richard Gregory Ferrin, Pascual Jose Lionel Wawoe

Patent number: 7043851Abstract: A mechanical support device for assisting individuals in setting up, creating, and verifying concentricity and roundness of a step cylindrical feature. The mechanical support device comprises a base and an adjustable section that is removably coupled to the base. The angle present in a groove located between the base and the adjustable section is designed to be either sixty, ninety, or one hundred twenty degrees. Items that are designed to be concentric with extremely low standards for variance would be placed flat within the groove and hand-rotated to check for any variance present. The mechanical support device can alternatively be used as a planer gage.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2004Date of Patent: May 16, 2006Inventor: Michael Le

Patent number: 6913166Abstract: A system for metering and dispensing single and plural component liquids and solids as described herein. The dispensing system has a microprocessor-based control system and progressive cavity pumps which provide a very accurate control of component ratios, shot sizes, flow rates and dispense durations. The system has numerous feedback components for accurately controlling the pressure, flow rates, fluid levels and amounts of fluids dispensed. Where a valved nozzle is used, the pressure in the flow system is used to control the pumps rather than the valve. Such a system may be used as a sprayer with compressed air added. Drum rams are associated with the supply drums and the progressive cavity pumps may be placed on the drum ram. Maintenance of a steady state in the system is accomplished with back and forth movement of the pump, with compensation for pressure changes. Absolute rotational position of the pump can be monitored when a set pressure is maintained, to diagnose system conditions.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2003Date of Patent: July 5, 2005Assignee: Fluid ResearchInventors: David J. Cline, Timothy S. Clark, Stephen P. Gordon, Michael R. Engle

Patent number: 6749519Abstract: The present invention is for an automatically actuated hidden compartment apparatus and method for creating the illusion that an object placed inside a chamber has disappeared. An automatically actuated hidden compartment apparatus comprises a housing, an outer compartment slidably coupled to the housing, an inner chamber slidably coupled to the inside of the outer compartment, and actuating means within the housing. When the inner chamber and outer compartment are slidably opened, an object is placed in the inner chamber. When the inner chamber and the outer compartment is closed, the actuating means is triggered, thereby preventing the inner chamber from sliding out of the housing. Then, when the outer compartment is opened an illusion is created that the object has disappeared. When the outer compartment is closed, the actuating means is triggered, thereby allowing the inner chamber to slide open. Then when the inner chamber and outer compartment is opened, the object reappears completing the illusion.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2003Date of Patent: June 15, 2004Assignee: Jim McCafferty Productions, Inc.Inventors: Lawrence David Hasseler, James R. Patent number: 6598556Abstract: The present invention is an aerodynamic wind riding antenna ornament comprising a main body adapted to be rotatably and slidably attached to an antenna mast. The main body has an aerodynamic lifting surface to harness airflow from the movement of a vehicle to move the ornament up and down the antenna mast. The main body also has an aperture of sufficient size to allow for the device to freely slide up and down an antenna mast. Retaining means is removably coupled to the aerodynamic lifting surface near the aperture to prevent the aerodynamic wind riding antenna ornament from sliding off the top of the antenna. The retaining means can comprise a snap-on clip, spring-like clip, or a portion of an ornamental figure removably coupled to the main body. Optional stopper clamps can be removably coupled to the antenna to restrict where the device travels on the antenna. The device can have optically perceived indicia to increase the appearance.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 2001Date of Patent: July 29, 2003Assignee: Jim McCafferty Productions, Inc.Inventor: Ron Peters
