Abstract: An apparatus for indicating the position of a point detector bar having an outer surface and linked to a moveable point associated with a fixed rail utilizing a probe. The probe is moveable to contact and ride on the outer surface of the point detector bar. A housing is connected to the probe and is moveable toward point detector bar also. A leg is positioned relative to the housing to form a unit. The leg is moveable within and relative to the housing when the probe contacts a certain portion of the outer surface of the point detector bar. A driver is linked to the leg and the housing unit and moves the housing and connected probe toward the point detector bar. A signal generator alerts the relative movement between the housing and leg within the housing and the probe contacts a certain portion of the outer surface of the point detector bar which may take the form of an enlarged diameter area.

Abstract: A sealing device for a well plate and process for fabrication of the device. The device includes a first layer and two adhesive layers. A bore is formed through the first layer and the two adhesive layers. A translucent second layer adheres to the first adhesive layer of the first layer to seal the well plate. The process for fabricating a sealing device provides a first layer with a first side having a first adhesive layer and a second side having a second adhesive layer. A second layer adheres to the first adhesive layer. A bore is formed through the first layer, first adhesive layer, second adhesive layer, and second layer, after removal of the second layer from the first adhesive layer. Yet another layer adheres to the first adhesive layer over the bore. A coloration element may be added to the device.

Abstract: An apparatus for separating teeth utilizing a base member having a first end portion, a second end portion, and an intermediate portion. A first spring extends outwardly from the first end portion while a second spring extends outwardly from the second portion of the base member. A lingual shield spans the distal portions of the first and second springs extending from the base member. A pair of tines overlap one another, one tine extending from the base member, the other extending from the shield. The first and second springs urge the meeting or overlapping of the first and second tines in the vicinity of gap for meeting place between a pair of teeth.

Abstract: An animal carrier device used in conjunction with a vehicle occupant restraint and a vehicle seat. The device includes a base member having a bottom and a wall extending from the bottom. The wall includes a projection which extends further out than other portions of the wall from the base. The base also forms an open chamber. An enclosure fits into the open chamber and connects to the same through one or more latches, a flange is linked to the projection of the wall of the base member and interacts with the vehicle occupant restraint to confine the base member and the latch enclosure to the vehicle seat.

Abstract: A dental radiograph sensor positioning device utilizing an elongated member which is fixed to a pair of supports. The first and second supports include holders for the radiograph sensor and are used interchangeably for this purpose. When one of the supports is held to the sensor, the other support is used as a grip for the user of the device. In this manner the device of the present invention may be used to obtain digital images from all four dental quadrants.

Abstract: A water toy device utilizing elongated body having first and second surfaces and first and second ends. A pair of wings extend from the elongated body and are bendable to determine the path of travel of the device in a body of water. An elongated fin projects from the first surface from the elongated body to stabilize the movement of the device.

Abstract: An apparatus providing a source of shortwave electromagnetic radiation utilizing a tape having a first side and a second side and a laser beam focused and impinging on the first side of the tape. The apparatus utilizes a tape storage unit which delivers or feeds tape from the same. A base supports a first projecting element which contacts the second side of the tape emanating from the storage unit. A second projecting element supported by the base contacts the first side of the tape being fed from the tape storage unit. The portion of the tape between the first and second projecting elements constantly lies in a plane during the feeding of the tape and provides a target surface for a focused laser beam which generates shortwave radiation.

Abstract: A fishhook setting apparatus utilizing a lever arm support which holds a fishing rod associated with the fishhook and which is freely rotatable about a pre-determined arcuate path. The trigger mechanism initiates the instantaneous raising of the rod chip through the lever arm support when the lever arm support travels to the extreme portion of an arcuate path.

Abstract: A storage and work place apparatus used in conjunction with a wheelbarrow or similar item. The apparatus includes a housing having a bottom portion and a side portion extending outwardly to form an open chamber the bottom portion is intended to a lie atop a wheelbarrow a cover is used in conjunction with the open chamber and is hingedly or slidingly attached to the housing in order to extend laterally from the housing. At least a first leg attainably connects to the housing and extends outwardly to contact a ground surface adjacent the wheel barrow. At least a second leg is rotatable attached to the cover and also extends outwardly therefrom to support the cover above the ground surface when the leg contacts the ground surface.

Abstract: A data logger system utilizing a censor which obtain a plurality of measurements of an environmental parameter and generates a plurality of signals representing such measurements. A processor receives the plurality of signals and produces a table of counts in sequential format. An external prime converter receives the table of sequential counts and converts the same to human readable values representing the environmental parameter measurement.

Abstract: A patient axillary support cushion utilizing a first member having a base, a first leg, and a second leg. First and second legs are connected to the base to form a channel for placement adjacent the axilla of a patient. The first leg is shorter than the second leg and is intended to allow the placement of endo-tracheal tubes. A second member formed of softer material overlies the channel formed by the elements of the first member. The second member may include convoluted surface characteristics for pressing the skin of the patient.

Abstract: A surgical support for a femur utilizing a shaft having a proximal portion and a distal portion. The shaft lies along an axis which is coincident with a first plane. A hook connects to the shaft through an intermediate portion and lies in a second plane which intersects the first plane. The hook includes a flattened portion for support of the femur.

Abstract: A medicament delivery device utilizing a housing having a chamber formed by a wall portion. The wall portion includes a weakened zone. A key shaft extends into the chamber and includes a portion lying outside the chamber or mating with a lock. The portion of the key shaft within the chamber serves as a support for a holder of a medicament. The medicament holder becomes accessible when a force is applied to the key shaft causing the same to egress from the chamber through the weakened zone of the wall portion.

Abstract: A device for calculating the speed of movement of a ball utilizing a sensing unit having an aperture at the surface of the ball and a receiving unit within the ball that measures reflected signals generated by the sensing unit. A distance measuring feature fixes a value for a particular distance of flight of the ball and a transducer receives a signal indicating the termination of the flight of the ball. A processor calculates the speed of the ball utilizing the absence of a reflected signal through the aperture and the beginning of a stop signal generated by the transducer as the basis for the time span of flight of the ball.

Abstract: An emergency alerting device for a Christmas tree utilizing a sheath having a housing forming an open chamber which is capable of encompassing the top of a Christmas tree. The decorative element is connected to the sheath and includes a smoke detector mounting to the surface of the decorative element. An alarm receives a signal from the smoke detector which sets off a perceivable audio noise. A source of power linked to the audio alarm activates the auto alarm.

Abstract: A surgery table utilizing first and second sections which are hingedly attached to one another. First and second sections are also connected to supports apart from the hinged portion. An elevator moves one of the sections upwardly and downwardly at the support. The resultant position of the frame formed by the first and second sections may take the configuration of a flat surface or an upwardly or downwardly oriented “vee”.
