  • Patent number: 6176235
Abstract: Device comprised of a container (3) associated to a pump (4), and intended to the forced expectoration of pulmonary mucus by generating in the total air volume of the lungs controlled oscillatory variations of pressure, frequency and amplitude up to optimum valuesso as to achieve the thixotropy of the mucus, the device being characterized in that the container (3) forming the oscillatory pressure variator contains an air volume to which is applied suddenly and cyclically a progressive oscillatory depression and communicates with the air of the lungs through a flexible hose (2) and a respiratory mask (1). The device has two conduits (6) to communicate the air contained in the lungs and the hose (2) with the tympanums.

  • Patent number: 6164602
Abstract: A railroad frog assembly is provided with a spring wing rail multi-position holdback subassembly that continuously retains the spring wing rail in each spring wing rail open position when activated by the wheels of a railcar traversing the frog assembly, and that automatically deactivates the multi-position holdback subassembly and releases the spring wing rail from retention in an open condition and for complete closing after the last railcar wheel has passed through the frog assembly.

  • Patent number: 6148908
Abstract: A heat exchanger (2) for cooling a hot process gas produced in a process gas generator (1) or a reactor is equipped with several cooling tubes (11), each of which is surrounded by an outer tube (12). Each cooling tube (11) and each outer tube (12) is welded at both ends to one water chamber (13, 14) each for feeding and draining of a cooling medium. The water chamber (13, 14) consists of a solid, strip-shaped piece into which, depending on the number of cooling tubes (11), circular wells (15) are introduced at a certain distance from one another. Each well (15) surrounds a cooling tube (11) and has a diameter equal to or larger than the inside diameter of the outer tube (12). The well (15) has a thin circular floor (16) of slight residual thickness in the area of the tube ends of the cooling tubes (11). A horizontal transfer line (4) carrying the hot process gas is connected to the the process gas generator (1).

  • Patent number: 6127613
Abstract: A pick assembly for use in plucking or strumming the strings of a stringed musical instrument is provided with a relatively inflexible plectrum element and a relatively flexible and short molded tether body element bonded at one end to the plectrum element and having a finger loop at the other end. A preferred tether body element cross-section, in combination with friction engagement of the pick assembly with the user's forefinger, significantly restricts rotation of the assembly about the axis of the user's forefinger.
