  • Patent number: 6480335
Abstract: A reflecting mirror is obtained which prevents double images from being formed and provides sufficient the hydrophilic property. The hydrophilic coating is approximately 15 nm in thickness and the photocatalytic coating between the hydrophilic coating and the glass substrate is approximately 240 nm in thickness. This setting of dimensions reduces the surface optical reflectance of light having a wavelength ranging from approximately 550 nm to 580 nm. This also reduces the deterioration of the photocatalytic action caused by the diffusion of sodium ions contained in the glass substrate into the photocatalytic coating. Furthermore, the aforementioned setting of dimensions turns the color of surface reflected light to whitish. Even when images formed by the surface reflected light or images formed by reflected light from the reflecting film interfered by surface reflected light are viewed, the after-image thereof hardly remains.

  • Patent number: 6471023
Abstract: In a belt-driven auxiliary equipment driving apparatus for vehicle engines, a one-way clutch-integrated pulley is disposed which includes a bearing for relatively rotatably supporting inner and outer rings and a clutch mechanism for effecting or blocking torque transmission between the inner and outer rings by changing the tilting direction of sprags according to the direction of relative rotation of the inner and outer rings. In such a case, a cage of the clutch mechanism is connected to a cage of the bearing. The cage of the bearing is rotated in the same direction as that of relative rotation of the outer ring at a relative rotational speed lower than that of the outer ring, and as a result, the relative speed of bodily movement of each sprag around the inner ring is made slower than the relative rotational speed of the outer ring. During idling of the inner and outer rings, each sprag thereby slides also on the outer ring and the speed of slide of each sprag on the inner ring is lowered.

  • Patent number: 6463639
Abstract: A buckle that can be manufactured at lower cost and is not unlocked even when a tongue plate is pushed in a locked state is obtained. An intermediate arm 60 is fixed to a lock spring 54 attached to a button 28. Facing walls 68 of leg portions 66 of the intermediate arm 60 face distal ends of horn pieces 26 of an ejector 22. In the locked state, a predetermined clearance 72 is formed between the facing walls 68 and protrusions 70 of the horn pieces 26. Accordingly, even if a tongue plate 20 is moved further in the direction of the arrow A, the facing walls 68 are not moved in the direction of the arrow A. The button 28 is not moved in an unlocking direction (the direction of the arrow A), either, and movement of a latch 48 in a disengaging direction (the direction opposite to the arrow B) is certainly prevented. As protrusions 38 can be formed in a small size, a buckle 10 is formed in a small size, and the buckle 10 can be manufactured at lower cost.

  • Patent number: 6447127
Abstract: A spring having four urging legs is fixed in a stay of a mirror, and retention pawls corresponding to the urging legs are formed at a base fixed within a passenger compartment of a vehicle. The urging legs engage with the retention pawls so that the stay is held at the base at a predetermined load. Because the four urging legs are provided on the spring, an urging force of the respective urging legs can be made small and bending of the urging legs is unobstructed by other members. Accordingly, when a load of predetermined value or greater acts upon the mirror, the urging legs corresponding to the direction in which the load acts slide and the engagement between all of the urging legs and the retention pawls is released. The mirror is allowed to fall regardless of the direction in which the load acts.

  • Patent number: 6447175
Abstract: A reflection preventing treatment is performed with respect to an edge face of a light shielding blade. The blade is composed of a film material made of a polyester, and is formed into a predetermined shape as a base piece. A flat face portion of the blade is capable of shielding an incident light, and an edge face portion is present in perpendicularly crossing to the flat face portion. An inner edge face of an aperture opening is included in this edge face portion. In order to form the blade, at first the base piece is punched from the film material in a predetermined shape. Subsequently, a chemical etching is applied to the edge face portion of the punched base piece so as to roughen the edge face portion. Accordingly, it is possible to suppress an unnecessary reflection of the incident light at the edge face portion. It is possible to evenly and efficiently roughen the inner edge face of the aperture opening by collecting a multiplicity of punched base pieces and dipping them in an etching solution.

  • Patent number: 6435440
Abstract: In a pretensioner, an axial direction of a generator accommodating portion is inclined from a direction which is orthogonal to an axial direction of the cylinder main body toward the cylinder main body. As a result, another axial direction end portion of the generator accommodating portion is positioned closer to the cylinder main body side and the dimensions of the pretensioner along the orthogonal axial direction of the cylinder main body becomes small. In addition, at a bottom portion side of the cylinder main body, an open space is generated along the orthogonal direction of the cylinder main body and therefore the pretensioner becomes more compact. Moreover, since the generator accommodating portion and the cylinder main body are connected such that a center axis of the generator accommodating portion is skewed with respect to the center axis of the cylinder main body, a large area can be secured for the opening into the cylinder main body while a compact structure is maintained.

  • Patent number: 6422963
Abstract: In pressing a slack-side span of a V-ribbed belt, entrained about a crank pulley variable in rotational speed, auxiliary pulleys and an idler pulley, with an auto tensioner, thereby automatically balancing tension of the belt, the damping coefficient DI of the auto tensioner is set in accordance with the modulus of longitudinal elasticity of the belt. For example, when the modulus of longitudinal elasticity of the belt is at least 9800 N/100% rib and less than 29400 N/100% rib, the damping coefficient DI of the auto tensioner is set at at least 20% and less than 100%. In this manner, even if the rate at which the auto tensioner absorbs elongation of the belt is as extremely small as 0.3 to 1.0 mm/deg, a rocking motion of the auto tensioner can be avoided thereby reducing the occurrence of a slip or a frictional sound of the belt and the occurrence of abrasion and frictional sounds of friction members, such as an insert bearing and a thrust washer, of the auto tensioner.
