  • Patent number: 6729079
Abstract: One preferred embodiment of an improved concrete anchor designed in accordance with the present invention for embedment in a concrete panel or the like includes an elongated bar having substantially flat parallel faces, an inner end disposed within the panel, an outer end disposed within a recess in the surface of the concrete panel and side edges extending between the faces. The side edges extend in continuously diverging relationship from adjacent the outer end to adjacent the inner end. In accordance with another embodiment, the preferred concrete anchor includes an elongated bar having substantially flat parallel faces; an inner end disposed within the panel; an outer end disposed within a recess in the surface of the concrete panel; and side edges, preferably substantially straight, which extend in a substantially parallel relationship between the faces. The outer end includes spaced, outwardly-projecting extensions disposed adjacent the side edges of the bar and, preferably, an elongated opening.

  • Patent number: 6715729
Abstract: An overhanging form system for attachment to a support structure is disclosed. The support structure includes an upper portion and a lower portion, and the overhanging form system comprises a pair of spaced apart hangers, with each of the hangers being adapted to engage the upper portion of the support structure. A pair of frames are provided, with each of the frames having a first portion and a second portion. The first portion of each frame engages a corresponding one of the hangers, the second portion of each frame is adapted to engage the lower portion of the support structure. Each of the frames further includes a first leg and a second leg, with the first leg having an inner end disposed adjacent the first portion of the frame and an outer end disposed outwardly from the first portion of the frame. The second leg extends from the second portion of the frame to engage the outer end of the first leg. A plurality of stiffeners are provided.

  • Patent number: 6627559
Abstract: The present invention provides a coating film, which is not likely to cause cracks on the coated surface and is also capable of improving the resistance of the coated surface, especially oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, and gas permeation resistance, a member provided with the coating film, and a method for producing the coating film. In the coating film of the present invention, a dense layer containing silicon dioxide as a principal component, which is obtained by heat-treating a solution containing perhydropolysilazane and polyorganosilazane, a ratio of the content of perhydropolysilazane to the total amount of polysilazane including perhydropolysilazane and polyorganosilazane being from 0.65 to 0.95, in air or air containing water vapor, was formed on the surface of a stainless steel plate.

  • Patent number: 6605240
Abstract: A concrete form has a pair of opposed upstanding and spaced apart side panels. A space is defined between the side panels. Each side panel has a respective upper edge and a respective lower edge whereby a top opening is defined between the upper edges and a bottom opening is defined between the lower edges. At least one bottom soffit panel is coupled to the form and is movable between a first soffit position closing off the bottom opening and a second soffit position providing access to the space through the bottom opening. At least one transverse top beam is coupled to the form and is movable between a first top beam position across the top opening and a second top beam position providing access to the space through the top opening. A method of setting up the concrete form includes assembling the form, opening the top beam if closed, installing at least one steel reinforcing element within the forming space through the top opening, and closing and securing the top beam.

  • Patent number: 6568836
Abstract: A track mounting system for supporting equipment, such as a dental light, includes a pan-shaped carriage which is suspended from the track mounting system and to which the light or other equipment is attached. The track mounting system includes a pair of spaced, parallel tracks which are engaged by rollers rotatably mounted on inner walls of the carriage. At least one of the rollers is formed from a relatively hard material and is concave to mate with the complementary surface on one of the tracks to provide resistance against side loads. Other rollers are formed from a relatively soft material and are convex to provide a light frictional resistance to movement of the carriage along the tracks that inhibits drift, over-travel and other inadvertent movement of the carriage, while reducing noise.
