Abstract: A latch mechanism comprising pushing means (28) which may operate vertically. The pushing means (28) being operable to push a first lever (42) which is positioned to act upon a second lever (50). The second lever (50) operates to turn a spindle (53). The turning the spindle effects retraction of a locking mechanism associated with the spindle. The latch mechanism may be used to operate deadlocks and security locks.
Abstract: An improved ice chipper having a plastic blade holder with outwardly propagating reinforced ribs holds a flex resistant blade of minimal thickness. A shaft of the ice chipper can be constructed of a low cost steel pipe covered with a polyethylene sleeve with knurled grip surfaces. The sleeve conforms to the pipe diameter upon application of heat during manufacture. A one-piece handle is attached to the free end of the shaft.
Abstract: A user-friendly process and fail safe system instantaneously identifies, locates, and help retrieve products and their contents in drawers, shelves, rooms, offices, stores, warehouses, etc. The efficient process and economical system is particularly useful to quickly and accurately identify, locate and help retrieve: computer discs, compact discs, software diskettes, video tapes, audio tapes, and their cases; books; files; boxes, cartons, storage bins, and other containers. In the reliable process and low power system, an electrically conductive label is placed on each product. Each label is easily coded to uniquely specify the product or its contents and storage location. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) or other visual, audible or mechanical signaling devices are positioned in proximity to the stored products and are in electrical contact with the labels on the products, as well as with a central processing unit (CPU) or other equipment used to specify and select the product.
Abstract: A portable hose cart apparatus for windably holding a flexible hose and for transporting thereof. The cart includes a pair of vertical side frames shaped in the form of flanking arms each having a hub bearing surface. The frame provides a base structure for steel components that are secured by use of rotatable frame fasteners. The steel is encompassed by a seamless plastic sleeve that shrinks to the steel through a heating process. Distal ends of the steel are bound by use of a wedge shaped locking block which frictionally secures the steel tubes to forward and upper support members. A spool assembly is positioned between the frame sides forming a hose support surface therebetween, the frame sides having a shape to minimize plastic material yet maximize support when the cart is being transported.

Abstract: An attractive portable air cleaner effectively purifies air in a room or office for added comfort and a healthier environment. Instead of using expensive custom-made filters, the air cleaner uses regular toilet paper or paper towels for customer convenience and lower customer costs. A quiet blower system circulates air through the air cleaner. Ion emitters are positioned near the intake and collector plates support and charge the paper media.
