Abstract: A fishing rod holder includes a central shaft with telescoping sections and a pair of support legs secured adjacent the first end thereof. A third support leg attached to the central shaft provides further supports. A rod support arm is pivotally secured within a vertical slot in the second end of the central shaft. A second end of the rod support arm includes a forked end with finger sections. A T-shaped hanger supported by the forked end has a central leg section pivotally secured to a strap that engages the handle of a fishing pole. The fishing pole is free to pivot up and down relative to the T-shaped hanger. Raising the fishing pole disengages the T-shaped hanger from the support arm, thereby pivoting the rod support arm to a vertical orientation. An anchor further secures the central shaft to a support surface.
Abstract: A method of separating an aqueous ethanol mixture from an active ethanol fermentation broth. The method comprising the steps of (a) supplying a selected fraction of the fermentation broth to a first reverse osmosis membrane separation stage to generate a dilute aqueous ethanol permeate and a reduced ethanol content fermentation broth retentate; (b) recycling the reduced ethanol retentate to the active fermentation broth; (c) supplying the aqueous ethanol permeate to a second membrane separation stage to generate a concentrated aqueous ethanol retentate and a dilute aqueous ethanol permeate; and (d) recycling the dilute aqueous ethanol permeate of step (c) to the active ethanol fermentation broth. An additional step of processing the concentrated aqueous ethanol retentate to remove water optionally follows.
Abstract: A continuous process for preparing low moisture filata cheese directly from cheese curd includes the following steps: (a) providing a jacketed kneading chamber with a hollow interior, with the chamber having inlet and outlet openings and a pair of hollow auger members rotatably mounted therein between the inlet and outlet openings; (b) passing a heated fluid through the jacket of the kneading chamber and through the hollow auger members; (c) supplying cheese curd with no additional liquid to the hollow interior of the jacketed kneading chamber via the inlet opening therein; (d) rotating the pair of hollow auger members to knead and melt the cheese curd, thereby producing a low moisture filata cheese while transporting the low moisture filata cheese from the inlet opening to the outlet opening of the jacketed kneading chamber; (e) removing the low moisture filata cheese from the jacketed kneading chamber via the outlet opening.
Abstract: A counterweighted, crowd gate includes parallel overhead tracks extending from end to end of a holding area for cows. A wheeled carriage extends between and rides on the tracks. An electric motor drives the carriage between the entrance and exit of the holding area. A counterweighted gate pivotally attached to the carriage extends perpendicularly to the floor of the holding area. A latch on the carriage holds the gate in essentially a vertical orientation. An operator trips the latch and the counterweight pivots the gate to a substantially horizontal position, so the gate passes over animals in the holding area upon return to the entrance. The gate is pivotally mounted to the carriage by bushings that electrically insulate the gate from the carriage to prevent harm to animals or individuals that come in contact with the gate. A control panel allows operation of the crowd gate from a remote location.
Abstract: A visual indicator assembly displays the state of an isolated stem control valve contained in a housing of an air tank. The visual indicator assembly comprises a rotatable handle member adapted for operative connection to the isolated stem control valve contained in the housing of the air tank. The rotatable handle member opens and closes the control valve without axial movement of the rotatable handle member. An “OFF” indicator is visible with the control valve in a closed condition, and an “ON” indicator is non-visible with the control valve in a closed condition. The “ON” indicator is movable to become visible and obscure the “OFF” indicator upon rotation of the handle member to adjust the control valve to an open condition.
Abstract: A bite-signaling device comprises a clamp member securing the device to the rod of the rod and reel combination. A linear support member is pivotally connected at a first end to the clamp member. The second end of the linear support member includes a perpendicular section with a linear signal member rotatably attached thereto. The linear signal member includes a weighted first end and a signaling second end. A line attachment member is secured to the signaling second end of the linear signal member and releasably secures a fishing line attached to a reel of the rod and reel combination. The fishing line secured to the line attachment member maintains the weighted first end of the signal member elevated relative to the signaling second end thereof. Releasing the fishing line from the line attachment member causes the weighted first end to rotatably descend and elevate the signaling second end of the signal member.
Abstract: A rail conveyor system comprises a base member supporting a rail conveyor mechanism that includes a mechanical power transfer assembly mounted within the base member. A plurality of parallel support rods mounted upon the base member is rotatable by the mechanical power transfer assembly. A plurality of parallel square tubes rests perpendicularly to and upon the support rods providing a uniform support surface above the base member. The tubes are operatively connected to the power transfer assembly for sequential, longitudinal reciprocation, perpendicular to the support rods. The support rods each include a series of indented surfaces for sequentially lowering one of the tubes relative to three adjacent tubes. The mechanical power transfer assembly provides sequential, longitudinal movement of three adjacent tubes in one direction and movement of a fourth bracketed tube in an opposite direction, while simultaneously rotating the support rods to first lower, then raise the opposite moving fourth bracketed tube.
Abstract: A removable liner assembly for pants includes first and second separating liner members joined together. Separating torso covering sections are joined to form an entry opening by a separating zipper assembly having a zipper section secured to each torso covering section of the liner member. A zipper slide member secured to one zipper section engages and disengages the zipper sections. A pull cord member fastened to the zipper slide member is anchored to the torso covering section, near the box end of the zipper section containing the zipper slide member. The zipper sections are disengaged with the pull cord member. An individual wearing the removable liner assembly beneath a pair of pants disengages the separating zipper assembly by pulling the cord member. This separates the first and second liner members. The individual removes each liner member from within the pants through the foot exit openings.
Abstract: A transportable, self-erecting, battery powered, vertical lift assembly includes a wheeled frame with a towing attachment mechanism. A linear guide member with an exterior roller chain member is pivotally secured to the frame. A carriage member with attached platform member is movably mounted to the linear guide member adjacent the frame. The carriage member includes an attached drive mechanism with a battery powered DC motor driving a gear unit operatively connected to a sprocket, which engages the roller chain member on the linear guide member. The carriage member and attached platform member are movable along the linear guide member by the drive mechanism to pivot and elevate the guide member, which engages a vertical support structure, and to elevate the carriage member and attached platform member. A safety brake assembly immobilizes the carriage member with respect to the linear guide member upon relative movement between the carriage member and drive mechanism.
