    Abstract: An expansion dowel assembly includes an axially extending dowel and an expansion member. In the expansion step the expansion member is axially displaced over a surface on the dowel providing form-locking engagement of the dowel assembly within a borehole. The surface on the dowel, over which the expansion member is displaced, is made up of two serially arranged axially extending surface sections. Each surface section is disposed at a different acute angle to the dowel axis.
