Patent number: 7120699Abstract: The document controlled workflow techniques are provided that can be represented by refinable Petri nets. A document may contain a control code that indicates to the document controlled workflow system to implement specified operations (i.e., functions) at a refinable place. The operations implemented at the refinable place are determined by the control code in the document. An author of the document can customize a document controlled workflow system of the present invention by entering a control code into a document that triggers the implementation of operations customized to that particular document at a refinable place in the document workflow system. The operations specified by a control code in a document can be represented by a refinement network.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2001Date of Patent: October 10, 2006Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventors: David G. Patent number: 6851490Abstract: A large diameter bore—in the range of 30 inches or more—is made through a geologic formation, such as the active surf zone and into the maritime zone. The drill head is provided with a mud powered motor (typically of the Moyno variety) which drives a hydraulic pump connected to a plurality of closed loop hydraulic circuits remotely controlled through electrical connection along the large diameter bore. One hydraulic circuit powers the rotating drill head; a second hydraulic circuit powers a mud and tailings evacuation pump; and a third hydraulic circuit articulates the drill head to provide direction. Mud exhausted from the mud motor is exhausted to the cutting head of the drill and evacuated along with dislodged cuttings through a pump in the drill head. The pump is individually controlled to pump at a rate, which assures a slight negative pressure in the required annulus about the drilled conduit, thus assuring that any leakage is from the surrounding soil into the annulus.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2003Date of Patent: February 8, 2005Inventor: Martin Cherrington

Patent number: 6799065Abstract: Improved teleoperator techniques often make use of at least one input device which can be selectively operatively associated with, for example, either a surgical instrument to treat tissues, or with an image of a surgical worksite shown to a system operator. A novel image manipulation arrangement effects movement of the image corresponding to the movement of the input device so that the image appears substantially connected to the input device, optionally while the instrument (or instruments) remain at a fixed location at the worksite. This can give the operator the appearance of grasping and/or manipulating target tissue and worksite into a desired position for viewing, while movement of the image is actually effected by repositioning of the image capture device, electronic image manipulation, or the like.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1999Date of Patent: September 28, 2004Assignee: Intuitive Surgical, Inc.Inventor: Gunter D. Patent number: 6786724Abstract: An intra-oral molding compound ejection tip is provided to provide a substantially uniform expanding solid angle of the mixed molding compound upon molding compound ejection. A prior art intra-oral tip typically includes an ejection orifice defined about an axis parallel to the direction of mold compound ejection. In a preferred embodiment, two cuts are placed in the tip at right angles to one another within the plane of the normal axis of molding compound ejection. Each of these cuts is sized with respect to the ejection orifice to produce a uniformly expanding solid angle of the ejected molding compound. This uniformly expanding solid angle of the ejected molding compound has the property of having higher normal incidence to both preparation and margin to the preparation in teeth having dental surgery.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2002Date of Patent: September 7, 2004Inventor: William K. Patent number: 6368768Abstract: Polymers are provided having the following formula I, II or III: Polymers of the present invention can be used to provide an anti-reflective coating (ARC) material useful for submicrolithography processes using 248 nm KrF, 193 nm ArF and 157 nm F2 lasers. The polymers contain chromophore substituents which exhibit sufficient absorbance at wavelengths useful for such submicrolithography process. The ARC prevents back reflection from the surface of or lower layers in the semiconductor devices and solves the problem of the CD being altered by the diffracted and reflected light from such lower layers. The ARC also eliminates the standing waves and reflective notching due to the optical properties of lower layers on the wafer, and due to the changes in the thickness of the photosensitive film applied thereon. This results in the formation of stable ultrafine patterns suitable for 64M, 256M, 1 G, 4 G and 16 G DRAM semiconductor devices and a great improvement in the production yield.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2000Date of Patent: April 9, 2002Assignee: Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd.Inventors: Min-Ho Jung, Sung-Eun Hong, Ki-Ho Baik

Patent number: 6287562Abstract: The invention provides methods for inhibiting the growth of a cell bearing a LewisY antigen. The methods involve contacting the cell with a composition comprising an Fv region of a light chain of a monoclonal antibody selected from B1, B3, and B5, and the Fv region of a humanized heavy chain of a monoclonal antibody independently selected from B1, B3, and B5, provided that if the heavy and the light chains are from the same antibody, the residue at position 95 of the heavy chain is a serine, and, if the antibody chain is from B3, the residue at position 4 of the light chain can be a leucine and the residue at position 82b of the heavy chain can be an arginine. The Fv regions are joined to an effector molecule selected from a chemotherapeutic agent, a toxin, a radioisotope, and a liposome loaded with a chemotherapeutic agent. In preferred embodiments, the heavy chain and the light chain are recombinantly fused, and the Fv regions are recombinantly fused to a toxin.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 1999Date of Patent: September 11, 2001Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Department of Health and Human ServicesInventors: Ira Pastan, Itai Benhar, Eduardo A. Patent number: 6284254Abstract: The respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major cause of lower respiratory tract disease in infants and children throughout the world. RSV is a major cause of pneumonia and bronchiolitis in infants under one year of age, and is a major cause of fatal respiratory tract disease in these infants. The treatment and prevention of RSV infection has been problematic. However, the present invention addresses some of these concerns by providing attenuated RSV strains that are suitable for inclusion in immunizing compositions. Specifically, the present invention is directed toward the introduction of growth restriction mutations into incompletely attenuated host range-restricted cold-passaged respiratory syncytial virus (cpRSV) strains by further passage of the strains at increasingly reduced temperatures to produce derivative strains which are more satisfactorily attenuated.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1995Date of Patent: September 4, 2001Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Department of Health and Human ServicesInventors: Brian R.
