  • Patent number: 5897174
Abstract: A braking system for a vehicle includes a pressure relief valve which rids the -system of moisture and liquid therein. The braking system includes a controller which is in fluid communication with the vehicle brakes, an air source, and an air signal that is supplied by the application of the vehicle's brakes. The controller includes piston structure therein which can be moved relative thereto to selectively allow the air from the source to be supplied to the vehicle brakes when a preset air pressure acts against the piston. The piston has a sump therein for collecting any moisture or liquid present in the structure. In an embodiment, the valve includes a vent hole through the piston and a band or ring which overlies the vent hole. The band or ring is preferably positioned around a necked-down portion of the piston. In another embodiment, the sump is effectively eliminated by a plug which overlays the sump and the valve includes a vent hole through an upper portion of the piston and a spring-biased plunger.

  • Patent number: 5833346
Abstract: Apparatus for providing a visual indication of the horizontal and vertical orientation of a movable component of a headlamp assembly wherein said headlamp assembly is of the general type including a stationary housing and a movable reflector component, said movable component being pivoted to the stationary housing for movement in the vertical and horizontal plane by means of a stationary universal pivot and a vertical adjust mechanism vertically spaced from said stationary pivot and including a universal pivotal mounting to said movable component, and a horizontal adjust mechanism horizontally spaced from said stationary pivot and including a universal pivot effecting operative connection to said movable reflector component. The stationary universal pivot and said horizontal pivot define the vertical pivot axis for said component. Further said stationary universal pivot and the horizontal adjust pivot in effect defining a vertical pivot axis about which said movable component is pivoted in the vertical plane.

  • Patent number: 5709237
Abstract: A dishwasher having spray arm, motor and pump components configured and mounted so as to occupy very low height. In one form the complete wash system is arranged as a drawer which slides in and out of a cabinet. The cabinet opening is stiffened against racking forces by incorporating an inverse portal frame in the opening flange. A synchronous AC motor is used with the rotor running within the wash chamber driving a wash pump integrated with a rotating spray arm.

  • Patent number: 5158424
Abstract: An automatic loading and unloading system is provided for loading articles supplied from a first location at a rate commensurate with the rate at which articles are supplied from the first location into trays and for unloading the articles from the trays for transport to a second location at a rate commensurate with the demand for articles at the second location, and for balancing a supply of articles loaded onto trays with variations in both the rate of supply thereof and the rate of demand therefor. The system includes a tray loading station, and a tray loading apparatus for loading articles supplied from the first location into trays at tray loading station. An infeed device feeds articles to the loading apparatus in a predetermined, orderly fashion. At a stacking station, a stacking device stacks article-filled trays to form a supply thereof for use on demand. An outfeed device delivers articles on demand to the second location in a predetermined, orderly fashion.
