Abstract: A carton includes a base wall, a pair of side walls hingedly connected to opposed side edges of the base wall, a first top panel hingedly connected to an upper edge of one of the side walls, a pair of end flaps hingedly connected to opposed end edges of the top panel and extending toward the base wall, a finger aperture defined in the top panel, and a strap handle disposed slidably with respect to an underside of the top panel and exposed to view within the finger aperture. The strap handle includes a main strap having a medial portion extending parallel to opposed side edges of the top panel. The opposite ends of the main strap are hingedly connected to the end flaps along fold lines. Each fold line extends parallel to a notional line extending between the top panel and the base wall.

Abstract: A carton for dispensing articles having a dispensing feature with a built-in ad panel. A plurality of panels are connected together to define an end of the carton. A displaceable portion at the end of the carton may be detached from the carton to define an opening for dispensing the articles from within the carton. The opening partially defines a positionable portion which is moveable between a first position and a second position. The positionable portion may be used as an ad panel to allow greater promotional flexibility.

Abstract: An elongate blank for forming a tubular carton includes panels arranged in a row along the length of the blank. The panels are hingedly connected one to another in series. Each panel has a pair of opposed free end edges disposed generally along the length of the blank. Each panel is formed along either free end edge thereof with a cutout so that the blank is provided along either longitudinal edge thereof with a plurality of tabs each interposed between adjacent cutouts. The cutouts are dimensioned and configured such that the tabs have an identical size and configuration and are complementary to at least some of the cutouts.

Abstract: An article carrier for carrying one or more necked articles, has a plurality of panels including a pair of laterally spaced top panels, a pair of handle panels extending upwardly from the top panels to form a carrying handle, and a bridging panel provided to span the space between the top panels. One of the handle panels is formed with a medial fold line to cause the handle to be moved from an upright position downwards and/or to one side to reduce the height of the carrier.

Abstract: A carton and blank for forming a carton for holding a plurality of articles. The carton includes a series of hinged wall panels forming a sleeve including a top panel and opposed side panels hingedly connected to the top panel. The carton further comprises a continuous strap handle formed from the carton and extending entirely across the top panel and one of the side panels. The strap is so connected at its opposite ends as to provide a surplus of material to enable a user part of the handle to be brought into a position of use.

Abstract: A frangible line defines a line of severance by extending across a carton wall that has a seam. The frangible line is extensively weakened along a predetermined segment where it traverses the seam. Preferably, the predetermined segment is extensively weakened by substantially disjoining the panel regions on either side of the line. Disjoinder is preferably achieved by making the predetermined segment a cut line.

Abstract: A carton for dispensing articles such as cups while retaining the remaining cups in the open carton. A plurality of panels are connected together to define a carton. A bottom panel includes a plurality of article-receiving openings therethrough. The openings are configured to receive articles and to retain the articles by their top flanges. Each of the openings is disposed adjacent to a fold line connecting the bottom panel with a side panel. The fold line includes a frangible portion that is positioned in proximity of at least one of the openings. Moving each article within the respective opening permits a flange of that article to initiate breakage of the frangible portion to release that article from the respective opening so that that article may be dispensed from the carton.

Abstract: A carton and blank for forming a carton for accommodating one or more articles which carton is provided with an access structure for the removal of articles from within the carton. The access structure comprises a closure panel hinged to a carton wall for forward and backward pivotal movement and a movable platform hinged to the closure panel for moving the contents of the carton forward for their removal in response to the forward pivotal movement of the closure panel.

Abstract: A separable dual carton for accommodating separate quantities of articles. The dual carton includes a plurality of panels hingedly connected to one another. A center top panel includes a tear strip which overlies at least one starter orifice. The starter orifice is formed from apertures in opposing panels which are sized and positioned to register with one another when the dual carton is erected. By removing at least a portion of the tear strip, the starter orifice becomes accessible to facilitate the separation of the dual carton into separate individual cartons.

Abstract: A carton includes a top panel, a pair of opposed end panels, and an integral strap handle that has a medial grip portion, a pair of wider portions and opposed end portions. The opposed end portions are formed from the end panels while the medial and wider portions are formed from the top panel. The strap handle is movable from a stowed position where the medial and wider portions lie in the plane of the top panel to a use position where the medial portion is arched upwardly from the plane of the top panel. The strap handle defines in the top panel an opening extending across the top panel. A relief notch is formed in the top panel at a location directly adjoining each wider portion along a complementary side edge of the opening.

Abstract: A carton includes a plurality of walls including a top wall, a pair of opposed side walls connected to side edges of the top wall and an end wall interconnecting the side walls defining an upper corner of the carton. The carton also includes an article dispenser for dispensing articles from the carton. The dispenser includes a detachable portion of the carton formed from the top, side and end walls and detachably connected to the top, side and end walls to be detached from the carton to define an opening for exposing an endmost article for removal. The detachable portion is adapted to define a heel for engaging the lower portion of the carton to support the carton in an inclined position.

Abstract: A carton and blank for forming a carton for holding one or more articles, for example, flexible pouches, which carton comprises an article-retaining structure for preventing the dislodgment of the packaged articles through the open ends of the carton. The article-retaining structure comprises a retention panel which extends between the carton side walls intermediate the top and base walls of the carton to form a tubular structure in cooperation with the top wall. The retention panel is formed with at least one article receiving aperture, wherein tubular structure is provided with a brace for retaining the tubular structure in an erected form.

Abstract: A carton for packaging fragile article comprising an outer sleeve and an inner article receiving structure. The inner structure comprises an inner sleeve having a first pair of opposed side walls secured to a first pair of opposed side walls of the outer sleeve and a second pair of opposed side walls spaced apart from a second pair of opposed side walls of the outer sleeve. The inner structure further comprises a first bridging closure panel hingedly connected to one end of the inner sleeve for movement between an open position where the bridging closure panel allows the inner and outer sleeves to collapse into a flat form and a closed position where the bridging closure panel forms a first brace structure between one of the second pair side walls of the inner structure and the adjacent one of the second pair side walls of the outer sleeve.

Abstract: A carton and blank for forming a carton includes a series of hinged panels forming a sleeve and end closure panels hinged to at least one hinged panel for closing the opposite ends of the sleeve. The carton includes a carrying handle including a strap having a user part between its opposite ends. The strap is so connected at its opposite ends to the end closure panels as to provide a surplus of material to enable the user part to be brought into a position of use. The invention further comprises a tubular carton wherein at least one of the side walls comprises a displaceable zone arranged to protrude out of the plane of the one side wall. The displaceable zone comprises connected sections each occupying a different plane to a next adjacent section.

Abstract: An article carrier and a blank for forming an article carrier of the basket type comprising in sequence a first end panel, a first side panel, a second end panel, a second side panel and a third end panel foldably connected together one to next. A base panel is hinged to respective one of the side panels and a handle structure comprising first and second handle panels is foldably connected to the second end panel. The first handle panel is foldably connected to the first end panel and the second hand panel is foldably connected to the third end panel. The first and second handle panels are adjacent to the first and second side panels respectively and are separated therefrom. The first and second handle panels are so constructed and arranged to be placed in face contacting relationship to form a two ply handle when the carrier is set up.
