Abstract: A molding profile assembly has a first and second molding profile. The first molding profile, whose upper surface is to form the upper surface of the molding profile assembly, has a groove formed into an under-surface of a first arm and a groove formed into a foot perpendicular to the arm. The second molding profile has first and second tabs which fit snugly into the first and second grooves of the first molding profile, respectively, interlocking the first and second molding profiles together. The molding profiles do not require scraping, stripping or other permanent alteration in order to be assembled together.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods are disclosed for improved containers and lids, and combinations thereof. Multiple compartments are provided in a container, one of which can be formed as the container's handle. The lid incorporates a plurality of hinged openings situated on the periphery of the cover, and the container includes a molded unitary body plastic container comprised of at least two chambers or compartments. The lid openings can be located strategically over or adjacent the container chambers/compartments, to provide independent access thereto. The compartments or chambers within the container separate the contents thereof, while multiple hinged openings may allow access to individual or multiple chambers or compartments within the container. Tamper evidencing structures in conjunction with detents or engagement structures may hold the lid and container openings in the desired relationship during shipping, handling, storage, and/or use. Related methods are disclosed.

Abstract: A holographic device is provided for recovering data in a holographic memory system. The device use homodyne detection to introduce a local oscillator beam into a reconstructed data beam of the recovered hologram. An image of the combined beam comprising the reconstructed data beam and local oscillator beam may be processed to obtain contrast level information for the pixels of the detected image. This contrast level information may then be used to obtain an increased contrast image of the recovered hologram, which may increase the signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the recovered data.

Abstract: A multipurpose parts washer may include an automatic cleaning portion, having a first cleaning chamber for spraying parts and a second cleaning chamber for soaking and agitating parts, and a manual cleaning portion. The first cleaning chamber may include spray bars that are selectively rotatably adjustable and each bar may have an orifice to discharge cleaning solution that is stationary during operation. Cleaning solution may be disposed in a reservoir of the first cleaning chamber at a reservoir level and in the second cleaning chamber at an agitation level that is above the reservoir level. The manual cleaning portion may be configured as a sink that is movably connected to the automatic cleaning portion to provide selective access thereto.

Abstract: An apparatus for accelerating the weathering effects on test specimens within a test chamber including a calibration-access assembly for replacing test sensors located within the apparatus with reference sensors when the apparatus door is closed. An improved sensor support assembly is also included. The calibration-access assembly from an improved location, facilitating superior irradiance detection. The calibration-access assembly including an aperture defined in the door of the apparatus and a shield connected to the door that is movable to permit or prevent access to sensors when the apparatus door is closed.

The primary sleep surface includes a first bunk rail having a top edge formed by a first side wall, connected to a first end bunk rail having a top edge formed by a first end wall, connected to a second side bunk rail having a top edge formed by a second side wall, connected to a second end bunk rail having a top edge formed by a second end wall. The primary sleep surface also has a first supportive surface connected to the first side wall, the second side wall, the first end wall, and the second end wall. The secondary sleep surface includes a second supportive surface opposing the first supportive surface that is connected to the first side wall, the second side wall, the first end wall, and the second end wall.

Abstract: The present invention provides a catalyst complex or ligand, and compositions thereof, for use in a variety of organic reactions having high reactivity and enantioselectivity. The catalyst is a N-heterocyclic carbene having three fused rings with first and second rings being six-membered rings and the third being a five-membered ring. The first ring is fused to the second and has four substituents. The second ring has two nitrogens flanking a carbene atom with one nitrogen bound to a substituent. The carbene atom may optionally be bonded to a metal. The third ring is fused to the second ring and contains two nitrogens. The third ring of the catalyst has a double bond and two substituents on adjacent non-fused carbons. A non-fused nitrogen of the third ring is partially bonded to another substituent. Methods for the synthesis and use of the catalyst embodiments of the present invention are also provided.

Abstract: Laminated flooring panels include decorative motifs, mechanically embossed-in-registration surface textures, recessed perimeters, and locking mechanisms. The locking mechanisms facilitate the alignment of adjacent flooring panels. Adjacent flooring panels substantially aligned allow embossed-in-registration patterns to be substantially continuous across adjacent flooring panels. The recessed perimeter prevents the edges of the flooring panel from prematurely wearing.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for testing a modified specimen such as a dried blood spot, plasma or serum specimen, for an analyte of interest, such as cholesterol. In accordance with the disclosed subject matter, the level of the analyte of interest in the medium from which the modified specimen was obtained (e.g., from a patient's blood) is determined based on the level of an analyte in a solution formed from the modified specimen and on the level of at least one normalizing analyte. The analyte and normalizing analyte each may be an ion, compound, biochemical entity, or property of the specimen. Also disclosed are a fluid collector and a fluid collection device.

Abstract: Provided is a method for screening a population of plants for the presence therein of individuals that show a reduced susceptibility to ethylene and physiological disorders, in particular Russet Spotting and Yellowing, as compared to a control plant, wherein a population of seeds is germinated in darkness and in the presence of ethylene to obtain seedlings that, when having a longer hypocotyl as compared to the original ethylene-sensitive control under ethylene, are selected as plants showing a reduced susceptibility to ethylene and physiological disorders, in particular Russet Spotting or Yellowing. Also provided are plants thus selected.

Abstract: A container comprising a pail, removable cover, and a gasket disposed between the cover and the pail is disclosed. The pail has an angled bead at the proximal end of the pail and a plurality of satellite rings that extend circumferentially around the pail and form a wall junction with the pail. The wall junction has a substantially constant wall thickness. A bail ear is formed to connect at least two of the satellite rings to define an opening between the bail ear and the body. The outer cup includes a major diameter mounting flange portion terminating in a curl, a minor diameter wear sleeve portion, and a transition portion joining the major and minor diameter portions. There is an elastomeric seal body and an embedded stiffener, with the elastomeric seal body having a sealing lip contacting the inner axial surface of the wear sleeve portion. There is a plastic inner cup member with an axial flange substantially co-extensive with the mounting flange and entrapped along the major diameter flange portion between the curl portion and the transition portion of the outer cup. The inner cup also has a radially extending flange that engages a radial portion of the elastomeric seal body. The plastic inner cup member has plural, evenly spaced diagonal braces extending between and joining the axial flange and the radial flange of the inner cup.
