Abstract: A weft controlling device for using weft as warp in a strap weaving machine has motors mounted on an assembly board and controlling rods each movably connected to a corresponding one of the motors by a controlling thread and each controlling rod having a weft hole in a distal end thereof so as to allow weft to pass through the weft hole. Springs are each mounted around a corresponding one of the controlling rods to provide a recovery force to the corresponding controlling rod. The movement of the controlling rods by the motors is able to drive the weft to a specific position for selection by the strap weaving machine.
Abstract: A rear shock assembly for a bicycle has a pair of chain stays, a pair of seat stays, a lever and a shock absorber. The pair of chain stays is pivotally connected to the frame of the bicycle. A rear fork tip is formed on one end of each chain stay. One end of each seat stay is pivotally connected to one of the rear fork tips. The lever is pivotally connected to the frame of the bicycle. The lever has a central connection point, a first end pivotally connected to the pair of seat stays and a second end. The shock absorber is pivotally connected between the second end of the lever and one of the rear fork tips. With such an arrangement, the leverage of the rear shock assembly is reduced and is nearly unity. The force applied to the shock absorber is reduced. The useful life of the shock absorber is prolonged.

Abstract: Chimeric proteins containing a cellulose binding domain (CBD) situated between two independent desired proteins of different lengths can be contemplated for use in a wide range of applications. In addition to its affinity to cellulose due to the presence of the CBD, various properties can be adopted to the chimeric protein by means of introducing the desired proteins upstream and downstream of the CBD. For example, a chimeric protein is produced in Escherichia coli in large quantities by joining a thioredoxin, a CBD and a short peptide composed of 3 amino acid (i.e., Arginine-Glutamate-Asparate). This chimeric protein can be further purified in simple steps and added to cell culture to enhance cell attachment to a surface made up of cellulose.

Abstract: A gaming machine has a display arrangement for displaying symbols that are related to a game, and a controller that determines in response to a predetermined input signal whether or not the game condition will be transferred to a specified game condition that is advantageous to the player and controls the display arrangement to display a display mode corresponding to the result of the determination. The display mode includes a special symbol for informing that the game condition is transferred to the specified game condition by showing a predetermined stop state when a symbol variation is stopped, and a predictive symbol for predicting the stop state of the special symbol. The predictive symbol is provided as plural kinds of symbols having respective relationship. The gaming machine can provide to a player an indication of the possibility to transfer to a special game condition depending on the meaning of the relationship of the symbols that are displayed.
Abstract: This invention relates to a system for motor vehicles to monitor and automatically report to authorities aggressive driving behavior of other vehicles. The camera 10 takes images from the rear view of the vehicle 14 and preferably also from the front. For example, when a vehicle 14 is at a certain MPH and is being followed too closely by another driver (for an extended period of time—ten seconds or more) this event can trigger the system to capture and transmit the rear view images of the offending vehicle. These images are then uplinked to the local law enforcement agency that in turn will determine whether or not a citation or ticket should be automatically mailed to the offender. If the offending driver continues to harass the driver with the system and in doing so drives past the victim, similar images are captured from the frontal view of the vehicle.
